NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Standings After Kansas

Denny Hamlin and Brandon Jones earned Xfinity Fastest Lap Awards at Kansas Speedway, giving Joe Gibbs Racing both honors for the weekend.
Denny Hamlin set the Xfinity Fastest Lap in the Hollywood Casino 400, won by Chase Elliott. Hamlin finished second after battling with Bubba Wallace for the win on the final lap of the race.
Hamlin led 159 of the race's 273 laps. While leading on lap 224, Hamlin clocked a lap of 30.278 seconds to set the fastest lap of the race. He'd maintain the top spot until a lap 254 caution, which set the stage for the race's dramatic finish.
It is the eighth time this season Hamlin has earned the Xfinity Fastest Lap award. He most recently claimed the honor at World Wide Technology Raceway. That is the most Xfinity Fastest Laps in the NASCAR Cup Series, with Kyle Larson sitting second with four.
Hamlin is 48 points above the cutline entering the final race in the Round of 12, the Bank of America ROVAL 400. Elliott and Ryan Blaney are secured spots in the next round of the playoffs with their wins in the past two weeks.
It was another Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota claiming the Xfinity Fastest Lap for the NASCAR Xfinity Series Kansas Lottery 300. In that race, Brandon Jones claimed the award for the second time.
Jones scored the victory in the race, leading 54 out of 200 laps. It was his third Xfinity Series win in his career at Kansas Speedway, and his second of the season.
It is Jones' second Xfinity Fastest Lap of the season after winning the award at Dover Motor Speedway. The victory secured his spot in the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs. Connor Zilisch and Justin Allgaier have also accumulated enough points in the Round of 12 to move on to the next round.
All three of NASCAR's National Series will head to Charlotte Motor Speedway to tackle the ROVAL this weekend. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races on Friday, October 3, with the NASCAR Xfinity Series on track on Saturday, October 4. The NASCAR Cup Series Bank of America ROVAL 400 takes the green flag on Sunday, October 5.
