Denny Hamlin amassed his seventh Xfinity Fastest Lap award during his win in the Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway on Sunday.
Hamlin clocked in at 32.944 seconds on the third lap of the race after starting on the pole. He lost the lead shortly thereafter to Kyle Larson, but went on to lead 75 of the race's 240 laps en route to his fifth win of the season and 59th of his career.
It is the seventh time Hamlin has won the Xfinity Fastest Lap in 2025, three more than any other driver in the NASCAR Cup Series this season. With his win, Hamlin punched his ticket to the Round of 12 in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs alongside Joe Gibbs Racing teammate and Cook Out Southern 500 winner Chase Briscoe.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series also raced at World Wide Technology Raceway, competing on Saturday in the Nu Way 200 Sauced by Blues Hog. Like in the Cup Series, it was the race winner scoring the Xfinity Fastest Lap award, with Connor Zilisch earning the award.
Zilisch set a time of 33.942 seconds on lap 121 of the event, coincidentally one of the 121 laps he led in the 160-lap race. Zilisch went on to win the race, clinching the NASCAR Xfinity Series Regular Season championship.
It is Zilisch's fourth Xfinity Fastest Lap of the season, and his third in the last four weeks. Only a third-place finish in stage two prevented Zilisch from scoring the maximum of 61 points in Saturday's race.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series will begin their Playoffs push this weekend, with all three series headed to Bristol Motor Speedway. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races on Thursday, September 11, followed by the Xfinity Series on Friday, September 12 and the NASCAR Cup Series on Saturday, September 13.
