One of the premier Super Late Model events of the summer comes to the historic Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway this Saturday, July 11, as the ASA Southern Super Series returns to Music City for the North-South Super Late Model Challenge 100. A talented field featuring championship contenders, nationally recognized veterans, rising stars, and hometown favorites will battle for 100 laps on one of America's most historic short tracks.
Grandstands open and qualifying begins at 3:00 p.m., with feature racing set to start at 5:00 p.m. The North-South Super Late Model Challenge 100 headlines a full night of racing that also includes Street Stocks on the quarter-mile, along with Limited Late Models, Pure Stocks, Pro/Masters Legends, Semi-Pro/Young Lion Legends, Pest Doctor Front Runners, and CP Race Wear Bandoleros.
The Southern Super Series championship battle enters Nashville with Tristan McKee leading the standings by just three points over Georgia's Spencer Davis. Davis has opened the season with a pair of podium finishes and will look to continue his championship pursuit at the Fairgrounds. George Phillips also enters the weekend in the title hunt, sitting fifth in points.
The entry list also includes one of the most accomplished drivers in modern Super Late Model racing, Stephen Nasse. The Pinellas Park, Florida native is a two-time Southern Super Series champion and boasts victories in many of the sport's most prestigious races, including the Snowball Derby, All American 400, Winchester 400, Snowflake 100, Orange Blossom 100, and numerous other marquee events. Whenever Nasse unloads, he immediately becomes one of the favorites.
Joining Nasse is another Super Late Model legend in Bubba Pollard. The 2014 Southern Super Series champion has amassed well over 100 Late Model victories during his career and owns wins in crown jewel races across the country, including the All American 400, World Crown 300, Rattler 250, and Snowflake 100. Pollard's smooth driving style and ability to manage long races have made him one of the sport's most respected competitors.
Several of racing's brightest young stars are also expected to challenge for the victory. Hudson Bulger continues an impressive rise from Legends Cars to Pro Late Models and now Super Late Models, bringing momentum from several strong performances against national competition. Jade Avedisian, one of the most recognizable young drivers in motorsports, arrives after making history as the first female champion of the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series and becoming the first female winner in CARS Pro Late Model Tour competition. She continues to gain valuable experience in Super Late Models as part of Toyota Racing Development.
Veteran racers looking to add another Nashville victory to their résumés include Matt Craig, the 2021 All American 400 winner and one of the Southeast's most consistent Super Late Model competitors, and Alabama's Johnny Brazier, a longtime fan favorite who has enjoyed tremendous success at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway over the years, including a track championship on the historic 5/8-mile.
The field also includes talented drivers from throughout the country, including Missouri standout Dylan Bates, a multiple-time Lebanon I-44 Speedway Late Model champion, Alabama's Dustin Smith, the reigning Southern Pro Series champion, and Florida's versatile Jett Noland, whose racing résumé includes starts in NASCAR, ARCA, Trans-Am, Stadium Super Trucks, and numerous Late Model touring series.
Several Nashville regulars will also have the opportunity to measure themselves against some of the nation's best. Anthony Bello, currently fourth in the Nashville Pro Late Model standings with one top-five and four top-10 finishes this season, will make the move into Super Late Model competition aboard the Fetcho Motorsports No. 51. Trey Craig, a two-time winner of Nashville's prestigious Battle of Broadway, will also step up into the Super Late Model ranks after battling through mechanical issues during the early portion of the Pro Late Model season.
With championship implications, nationally recognized stars, rising young talent, and hometown favorites all sharing the same racetrack, Saturday's North-South Super Late Model Challenge 100 is expected to produce one of the strongest fields of the 2026 season.
