Tim Allensworth joined the list of Firecracker Outlaw Late Model winners on Friday night, winning the 50-lap feature at Midvale Speedway.

Allensworth crossed the line ahead of 2025 Firecracker winner Bob Page in the exciting contest. He took the lead from Gary Whipkey on lap 31, with Whipkey spinning shortly thereafter following contact with Page. Page maintained the runner-up spot following the contest, but could not chase down Allensworth for the win on the restart.

Allensworth felt plenty of pressure throughout the race. Between damage to the right-front fender of his No. 21 to fuel concerns near the end of the race,

"It was a fun one," said Allensworth after the win. "Had our work cut out for us there. Maybe [the damage] got a little air on that left-front tire and helped it turn a little bit. It acted like it was running out of fuel there at the end. It started sputtering with four to go and it shut off on the cool-down lap coming out of four. Hopefully that's all it is."

The 50-lap feature was shorter by 20 laps than last year's Firecracker distance. However, with the intense heat wave bearing down at Midvale and around the country, Allensworth had no complaints.

"Absolutely. It's draining driving these cars tonight, it's so hot in here."

Kenny Feister, Jr. finished third, followed by Jimmy Carter and Whipkey.

The Open Modifieds also battled for 50 laps, although their feature had to wait until after a lengthy rain delay. Sam Bigham scored the victory in that race, holding off Michael Stone for the win.

"Stony fought with me there on the first restart," said Bigham. "It was pretty good. I thought it was going to be a close race. Glad we could get away with a win. It feels good to finally have one in the Open Mod."

Zack Miller finished third, followed by Ian Porco and Rick Elkins.

Other winners on the evening included Louis McGrath (Crate Modified), Nate Smart (Street Stocks), Mason Grewell (Crown Vics) and Andrew Bethards (Compacts).

Racing returns to Midvale Speedway next Saturday, July 11, with Outlaw Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks, Compacts, Crown Vics and Legends in action, as well as the Buckeye Buggies.
