SUPER SIX Super Late Model Series Storylines

Championship Shake-Up: Wooldridge Sidelined, Title Fight Blown Wide Open

The battle for the 2026 Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series championship took an unexpected turn this week as 01 Motorsports announced their driver and points leader Tanton Wooldridge (#01) will miss Saturday's Line-X 150 at Speedway 660 based on medical advice from health professionals. A replacement driver has yet to be announced, but one individual will be climbing behind the wheel of the 01 machine in an attempt to collect points under the series’ replacement driver policy and keep Wooldridge in the mix.

The timing could not be more significant and creates a dramatic - albeit unfortunate - twist in the complexion of the 2026 season. Wooldridge, Ryan Messer (#1) and Dylan Gosbee (#16) sit separated by just ten championship points entering Round Four. Messer has quietly pieced together one of the most consistent seasons in the field with three consecutive top-five finishes, while Gosbee has been one of the fastest cars at virtually every stop, charging through the field to earn all three MPI “Up On The Wheel” Awards this season. Messer calls Speedway 660 home and will be among the favorites to win, while Gosbee looks to keep up his impressive results - the best since his 2023 championship season - although he would surely love for his heat race luck to turn around.

Back from the Brink: Teams Rebound After a Tumultuous PEI Heat Race

The Universal Truck and Trailer 150 at Oyster Bed Speedway tested both drivers and crews alike, leaving several teams with significant repair work before making the trip to Speedway 660.

Steve Halpin's (#03) team, led by GD Fabrication and Racecars, worked tirelessly to repair extensive damage following a heat race incident in Prince Edward Island, successfully preparing the car for another weekend of competition. Halpin has posted numerous podium finishes at Speedway 660 over the years, and is widely considered a top contender to win. Luck has yet to be on his side in 2026, but perhaps the back half of the season will bring a big upswing.

Meanwhile, Dylan Gosbee (#16), Chris Hughes (#32) and Kent Vincent (#8) all persevered through substantial heat race damage to complete the 150-lap feature event, with each team rewarded by posting strong finishes inside the top ten despite battered race cars. After a week of hard work in the shop, each will be hoping for a smoother day and better luck while aiming to match the speed they’ve shown thus far in the season.

Hungry for Victory: Greg Fahey Knocking on the Door

For years, Greg Fahey (#20) has been one of Atlantic Canada's most respected veterans. Last trip to Speedway 660, he was closer than ever to capturing his first Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series victory.

Fahey enjoyed a breakthrough performance in May, finishing second in the Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems 150 to earn his first career series podium. While the trip to Oyster Bed Speedway didn't produce the result the team was hoping for battling mechanical gremlins, the familiar confines of Speedway 660 provide an excellent opportunity to rebound. With confidence growing and speed already proven, don't be surprised if Fahey becomes one of the biggest threats to park in Victory Lane Saturday.

The Return of the 14: Andrew Rodgers Makes His 2026 Debut

A name that is no stranger to Speedway 660 returns to Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series competition this weekend as Andrew Rodgers (#14) makes his first start of the 2026 campaign.

Rodgers has enjoyed several impressive performances at Speedway 660 over the years, including capturing an EIT Race Radios Pole Award and leading laps against some of the region's toughest competition. After sitting out the opening three rounds, the family-based team led by driver Andrew returns to familiar territory looking to immediately contend with the front runners; rekindling the magic they brought to past Easy-Kleen SLMS races.

A Rookie Class Turning Heads

The battle for Castrol Rookie of the Year has quietly become one of the most competitive and compelling storylines of the 2026 season, as the series' crop of newcomers post respectable results each week.

Clark Moore (#54), Michael Cormier (#4) and Marcel LeBlanc (#30) have each recorded top-ten finishes through the opening three races, proving the next generation of Atlantic Canadian Super Late Model talent is ready to compete. While Cormier is not contesting a full-time effort, Moore and Leblanc have made the call to each race so far, with Moore currently leading the way as he finds himself inside the top ten in points. Moore is a defending track champion at Speedway 660, while Leblanc has multiple top-three finishes. Both look to improve even more this round.

The Silent Climb: Chris Duncan Putting Together a Stout Season

Consistency often flies under the radar, but Chris Duncan (#97) has quietly assembled the strongest start to an Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series season of his career. Race after race, Duncan has kept his nose clean, brought home solid finishes, and steadily climbed the championship standings while others around him have grabbed the headlines.

Representing title sponsor Easy-Kleen Pressure Systems Ltd., Duncan enters the Line-X 150 carrying momentum and confidence as the season reaches its midpoint. Finishes of tenth, tenth, and eleventh have vaulted Duncan to ninth in points, with possibly the best yet to come! If the opening half of the season has proven anything, it's that overlooking the No. 97 may be a mistake as he races back to Speedway 660.
