Summer Sizzler Celebrates 25th Annual Running Saturday at New Paris

This Saturday's Summer Sizzler at New Paris Speedway isn't just a race, it's a celebration 25 years in the making.

The Summer Sizzler began on August 15, 2002, with Erv "Butch" Starrett. Since then, the event has grown into one of the most prestigious for Outlaw Late Model competitors.

That tradition continues on Saturday, August 1, with the 25th Annual Summer Sizzler on tap. The event marks the fourth race of the 2026 Reveal the Hammer Outlaw Late Model Series season.

A field of 22 cars is entered for this year's edition of the Summer Sizzler, battling for one of the crown jewels of Outlaw Super Late Model racing. Among the entries is Tyler Roahrig, looking to continue his unprecedented success in the event.

Roahrig is an eight-time winner of the Summer Sizzler, with his most recent triumph coming in 2024. Roahrig scored his eighth career Reveal the Hammer victory earlier this season at Russell's M-40 Speedway.

At one point, Roahrig won three consecutive Summer Sizzlers, between 2020 and 2022. No other driver has won the Summer Sizzler more than twice in their career, with only Jeff Ganus and J.R. Roahrig boasting a pair of wins apiece in the race.

Ganus will battle for his third Summer Sizzler win on Saturday. Other past winners entered for Saturday's race include Phil Bozell (2010), Donny Klotz, III (2019), Ron Maynard, Jr. (2006), Mark Shook (2023).

Shook leads the Reveal the Hammer points standings entering Saturday's race, 19 points ahead of Zack Cook and 31 points ahead of Phil Bozell. Other drivers to watch in the field include past Reveal the Hammer race winners Cory Pressler and Adam Terry.
