The 14th Georgia Summer Nationals at Cordele Motor Speedway has been postponed due to forecasted weather for the area this Saturday, August 1.
"Due to the forecasted weather and in the interest of the safety of our fans, drivers, and race teams, we have made the unfortunate decision to postpone the 14th Annual Georgia Summer Nationals scheduled for Saturday, August 1st," said Cordele Motor Speedway in an announcement on their Facebook page.
"While this is never an easy decision, we want to ensure everyone has the best and safest racing experience possible. The event has been tentatively rescheduled for Saturday, August 22nd."
"With eminent rain forecast over the Cordele area for this Saturday, Cordele Motor Speedway, Southern Super Series and Modifieds of Mayhem Tour Officials have made the difficult decision to postpone the Georgia Summer Nationals to a later date," reads a Southern Super Series statement. "All parties are currently exploring August 22nd as a potential make-up date."
The Georgia Summer Nationals was slated to be the seventh points race of the 2026 ASA Southern Super Series season. the event is also part of Cordele's Super Fest Series, paving the road to the World Crown 300. That road has been heavily impacted by weather this season, starting with the postponement of SpeedFest in January.
Further event details and updates surrounding the Georgia Summer Nationals will be announced as they become available.
Should the tentative reschedule date of August 22 hold, the Georgia Summer Nationals remains the next event on the ASA Southern Super Series and Modifieds of Mayhem Tour schedules.
Next on Cordele Motor Speedway's schedule is "Fast and the Curious" on August 15. Pro Trucks, Outlaws, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks, Enduros, Legends, Bandoleros and Crown Vics are on the card for that event.
