The popsicle sticks are in the air for the 2026 Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series season, and the stakes have never been higher. A three-horse championship battle separated by a mere twenty (20) points is roaring into Prince Edward Island’s Oyster Bed Speedway - with the ¼ mile bullring being a cathedral of intensity for the cars and stars of the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series for the 6pm show on Saturday August 1st.
No shortage of storylines surround the stout field of eighteen (18) cars ready to do battle - but while points remain a key storyline, the chase for the checkered flag sees Cory Hall entering with a figurative target on his back. An unbroken and unparalleled streak of dominance at Oyster Bed Speedway - including five consecutive Easy-Kleen SLMS wins at the track - has his competition like sharks smelling blood in the water as they aim to dethrone him under the lights this Saturday.

All Eyes on Point Standings (Part One) - The Championship Battle
With just two races remaining in the 2026 Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series season, every point has become critical in the fight for the championship.
Reigning series champion Tanton Wooldridge (#01) enters the Breakwater Developments 150 with a narrow five-point lead over Ryan Messer (#1), while 2023 champion Dylan Gosbee (#16) remains firmly in the hunt just 20 points back. Three proven race winners, three championship-caliber teams, and only two opportunities remaining to separate themselves before a champion is crowned.
The timing couldn't make this weekend any more important. Oyster Bed Speedway has historically rewarded consistency just as much as outright speed, and every position on the racetrack could prove invaluable. It was this August long-weekend event in 2023 that saw Gosbee win and propel himself to his 2023 championship a few weeks later. One year ago, Wooldridge’s runner-up effort vaulted him into the points lead - one he would never relinquish.
With a win and four podium finishes at Oyster Bed Speedway, Gosbee has the most success at the track throughout his career. But he had to fight hard to pass Messer in the closing laps of June’s Universal Truck and Trailer 150 for the final podium spot. This all happened in front of Wooldridge, who fought to a sixth place result. Wooldridge has largely been out of the seat since - being sidelined by doctors - but has been cleared to return this weekend in the midst of a dynamic duel for the title.
All Eyes on Point Standings (Part Two) - Mid-Pack Madness
While the battle for the championship sits squarely in the spotlight, one of the most competitive races in the standings may actually be taking place throughout the middle of the leaderboard.
Just one point separates Hudson Weston (#43) and Braden Langille (#26) in the fight for fourth place, while only twelve points cover positions sixth through tenth. Steve Halpin (#03), Greg Fahey (#20), Clark Moore (#54), Chris Hughes (#32) and Chris Duncan (#97) all arrive at Oyster Bed Speedway knowing every position gained on Saturday night could dramatically reshape the standings.
With such a tightly packed group, drivers may find themselves racing championship rivals all evening long rather than focusing solely on the race win. One position on the racetrack could mean multiple positions in the standings, making every restart, every pass, and every late-race battle even more significant.
These groups all could climb the rankings should a driver higher in points falter. It’s battles like these that are often some of the most intriguing to watch!
Impressive Castrol Rookie Performances
The future of the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series has been on full display throughout the 2026 season, with this year's Castrol Rookie class proving they belong among Atlantic Canada's best.
Clark Moore has quickly established himself as one of the biggest surprises of the season, recording back-to-back top-ten finishes to climb into a tie for seventh in the overall championship standings. Competing against many of the region's most accomplished veterans, Moore has shown consistency beyond his years while continuing to improve each race weekend. He was one of the biggest storylines last race at Oyster Bed Speedway - he ran in the top five and finished ninth in his debut trip to the track!
Meanwhile, Marcel LeBlanc (#30) has quietly pieced together an impressive rookie campaign of his own, putting together multiple top-ten performances and remaining firmly in the conversation for Castrol Rookie of the Year honours.
A third rookie contender has not competed full-time, but nevertheless turned heads at Oyster Bed Speedway in June. Michael Cormier wheeled to a top ten result in his first start at the track as well, but will sit out this weekend's race.
With only two races remaining, the rookie battle is far from settled. Every position will matter as these drivers continue building valuable experience while chasing one of the series' most prestigious first-year awards. If the opening four races are any indication, this rookie class has a bright future ahead.
Hudson Weston’s Career High Ranking
Hudson Weston (#43) has quietly been piecing together a career best season, one that has rewarded him with a stout fourth place ranking in points - his highest ranking ever. That came on the heels of a top five run in the Line-X 150 at Speedway 660 on what was an impressive day for Weston.
It’s been a season built on consistency and speed. His confidence received another boost at Speedway 660 earlier this month, where he recorded an impressive top-five finish in the Line-X 150 while racing among the series' established front-runners.
The story for Weston will be taming Oyster Bed Speedway. He has run well here before - posting a top ten result in his 2023 rookie season - but outside of that one strong run, Weston has been snakebitten when crossing the Confederation Bridge. Fans will watch intently to see if he can rise to the occasion when it matters most this weekend!
Robbie MacEwen Keeps Knocking
Few drivers have come closer to victory lane in 2026 without reaching the top step than Robbie MacEwen (#40).
The Prince Edward Island standout has consistently shown race-winning speed throughout the season, highlighted by a runner-up finish the last time the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series visited Oyster Bed Speedway. On that afternoon, MacEwen spent much of the race chasing Cory Hall, ultimately settling for second after another impressive performance in front of his home crowd.
Since then, MacEwen has continued to prove he belongs among the championship contenders, adding more podium finishes and regularly placing himself in contention when the checkered flag approaches. While the first Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series victory has remained just out of reach, each race has reinforced the belief that a breakthrough win is only a matter of time.
Returning to his home province, MacEwen once again enters the weekend as one of the favourites. With local knowledge, proven speed at Oyster Bed Speedway, and momentum on his side, he'll be looking to finally convert another strong run into a monumental victory.
Can Anyone Stop Hurricane Hall?
When the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series visits Oyster Bed Speedway, one driver has owned the place.
Cory Hall (#83) enters Saturday chasing an incredible sixth consecutive Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series victory at the Prince Edward Island bullring. Even more remarkably, Hall has captured seven consecutive touring-series victories at Oyster Bed Speedway dating back multiple seasons, establishing one of the most dominant track records in recent Maritime racing history.
The competition is stronger than ever, with hometown stars Dylan Gosbee and Robbie MacEwen, championship leader Tanton Wooldridge, and title contender Ryan Messer all looking to end Hall's reign. But until someone beats the driver of the #83, the road to victory at Oyster Bed Speedway continues to run straight through "Hurricane" Cory Hall.
