Johnny Clark Returns to PASS Victory Lane at White Mountain

Colin Allman scored his second UARA National victory of the season in impressive fashion on Saturday, dominating the Frank Grill Memorial 112 at South Alabama Speedway.
Allman led nearly all 112 laps of the Super Late Model contest, holding off Jake Finch to score the victory. A series of late restarts put Allman's victory in jeopardy, but the Plant City, Florida driver held strong for the win.
"I was not expecting all those restarts," said Allman in victory lane. "Our car was too tight on restarts. I can't thank Jake enough for racing me clean. We raced hard, we raced tight, but we raced clean, and that's what it's about."
For Allman, it is the continuation of a breakthrough season for him and his family team. Earlier this year, Allman won the Bigley Memorial Tune-Up at Freedom Factory.
With just Colin and his father working on the car this weekend at South Alabama Speedway, Allman continues to punch above his weight against some of the best Late Model competitors in the country.
"This is pretty dang cool, man," said Allman. "It's literally just me and my dad that showed up, just us, racing against these guys that have a little bit more help and resources. Toby Nuttleman and Ty Majeski, man, they are really good at what they do, and they help me out a lot. I can't thank them enough.
"I also can't thank my dad enough. He's only got one arm this weekend, so we basically had three hands for the whole weekend. I can't thank him enough for all the hard work that he could do."
While Allman celebrated his victory, fellow Florida native Jake Finch's frustrating search for a marquee Super Late Model win continued. A two-time winner in the Pro Late Model Baby Rattler 125 at South Alabama, Finch also finished second in the UARA Rattler 250 won by Bubba Pollard in 2024.
He's been to victory lane several times in Pro Late Model competition driving for Ronnie Sanders this year, but Finch is hungry for a Super Late Model triumph.
"I felt like we had a good car," said Finch. "Our restarts were pretty good. We were just a little too tight, entry to middle. I'd try to keep it down on the top, but I'd slide just a little too much. I tried a bunch of different things. Luckily enough, we got some good restarts to put ourselves in position. Just couldn't close it out.
"Maybe if we had a pit stop in the race, we could have adjusted and that would have helped our pace. Nonetheless, it is frustrating to continue finishing second. I think I have 100 seconds. It was a good night overall. It's good momentum going into next week in Pensacola, and hopefully we can finish a little bit better."
This year's Rattler 250 winner, Michael Atwell, settled for a third-place finish with a car that did not handle to his liking on Saturday night.
"Pretty disappointed," said Atwell. "We were like a 15 out of 10 tight the whole night. We came down here and had a flat right-rear. It is what it is. We got driven through there at the end, but I can't thank these guys enough behind me for working their tails off and supporting me every weekend.
"The 67 had us killed all night, so we've got to go back to the drawing board and start working on stuff to make it better."
Stephen Nasse and Michael Hinde finished fourth and fifth, completing a Florida sweep of the top five. Mobile, Alabama's Dustin Smith finished sixth, with Daniel Webster, Michael Goddard, Zack Dixon and Jim Wall rounding out the top 10.
The UARA National Super Late Models return to Alabama and Mobile International Speedway on October 4 for the Johnny's RV Backyard Brawl 125. That will be the penultimate race of the UARA season before its marquee finale, the Bill Bigley, Sr. Memorial 128 at Freedom Factory on November 29.
