Northwest Super Late Model Series
Alan Cress Claims Emotional Victory in Neal Newberry 125 at Wenatchee Valley

On Saturday, Chase Pinsonneault had one of the best seats in the house at Owosso Speedway, serving as play-by-play announcer during the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour's New Stars Race during Owosso Nationals weekend.
Come Sunday, Pinsonneault found an even better spot on the Michigan property - victory lane.
Pinsonneault claimed the victory in the Owosso Nationals 150 for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, his second win with the series in 2025. The Ontario native marched to the front of the field, taking the lead from Steve Dorer on a late restart and pulling away to a convincing victory.
"Super proud of this team," said Pinsonneault in victory lane. "I'm not sure what was harder, doing this or announcing."
While Pinsonneault joked about his Saturday in the booth, it undoubtedly gave him a new perspective to prepare for Sunday's 150-lap contest.
"Watching Barrett [Polhemus] get her done gave me all the confidence I needed. I predicted him to win, predicted [Chad Finley] to win the Outlaws race, and we got it done tonight."
Evan Shotko charged from a 14th-place starting position to finish runner-up to Pinsonneault. Shotko benefitted from an adjustment during his pit stop, but needed a caution to close the gap between himself and Pinsonneault to take a shot at the win.
"Coming from 14th, it's really tough," said Shotko. "We made a good change at the pit stop. I felt like we had a car that maybe could have contended. By the time I got there, he was so far gone. I figured I might as well save some brakes.
"Congratulations to him. They've been working really hard. They're a really good group of people. Hopefully, next time, I can beat them."
Meanwhile, Dorer held on for a third-place finish. With little help on his No. 7 entry for the weekend, pitting for adjustments or fresh tires was not an option for Dorer.
Despite that, he maintained the third position on his older tires, surprising himself and leading to an emotional moment during his post-race interview.
"First, I want to thank God for that," said Dorer. "I'm grateful that I'm even here with this opportunity. Tim Curry with FinishLine Racecars helped me this week. We took it to his shop, decided to go through it and do things his way. Take my stuff off that I've been doing, because my results haven't been great. It made a difference.
"To come out here, didn't have much for the crew. What are we going to do if we pit? Where are we going to go? Just very grateful, almost emotional being here.
Unofficially, Hunter Jack finished fourth, with Billy VanMeter rounding out the top five.
The next stop for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour is the series' championship finale, the Winchester 100 during Winchester 400 weekend at Winchester Speedway. The race is scheduled for Friday, October 10.
