The Modifieds of Mayhem Tour has been added to the Florida Governor's Cup weekend at New Smyrna Speedway, increasing the excitement for the November event.
The Modifieds of Mayhem announced on Saturday evening that the series will race on Friday, November 14 as part of the 60th Florida Governor's Cup weekend.
The event will be a non-points race for the series, and the first for the series at the Central Florida half-mile. With an influx of competitors from the region taking part in the series this year, the time was right for a venture to Florida's Atlantic coast for the series.
"We're just really excited to get down to New Smyrna Speedway and be a part of what they're doing," said Modifieds of Mayhem Tour Director Stan Narrison. "We've got a lot of racers from the area that have been asking for this, and we're excited to bring Mayhem racing to Central Florida. I think it's going to be a fantastic show."
"We are excited to add the Modifieds of Mayhem to our lineup for the 60th anniversary of the Florida Governor's Cup," said New Smyrna Speedway Manager Rusty Marcus. "We are looking to make this a spectacular event and feel that this is the missing piece.
"Stan and his crew put on incredible shows throughout the Southeast and we look forward to showcasing the tour at New Smyrna Speedway."
The Modifieds of Mayhem will be part of the first night of racing during the Florida Governor's Cup weekend. The ASA Southern Super Series, competing in its championship finale, headlines racing on Saturday, November 15.
They'll be joined by several of New Smyrna Speedway's local divisions throughout the weekend. For more information about the 60th Florida Governor's Cup, visit newsmyrnaspeedway.org.
