Friday night's Pro Truck feature to start racing activity at the 54th Annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway came with a scare, as a horrifying crash on lap 48 of the 50-lap feature brought a lengthy delay.

While battling for position late in the Pro Truck feature, Steven Davis and Hunter Johnson made contact. The end result of the contact sent Johnson towards the outside wall in turn one, where he first collected John Heil before going roof-first into the turn one wall.

All drivers were attended to by track safety crews and climbed out under their own power. Johnson was transported for further observation, but posted on his Facebook page, "I’m good everyone just a little back pain! But I’m all good! I’ll post a photo when I can!" Early Friday morning, Johnson added "Hey everyone, im bruised up badly and a broken T3 Vertebrae, gonna be in a lot of pain for a bit!"

Casey Roderick would go on to take the checkered flag in the event when it restarted, but was disqualified in post-race technical inspection, giving the victory to 13-year-old Gavin Graham.
