William Byron scored the 13th pole of his NASCAR Cup Series career in Saturday's qualifying session for Sunday's EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at COTA. Ty Gibbs will start second. Here's the full starting lineup.
William Byron will start from the pole in Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas after turning the fastest lap in the final round of qualifying Saturday at the 3.410-mile road course in Austin, TX.
Ty Gibbs, who came up just 0.015 sec. shy of the pole, will lineup alongside on the outside of the front row on Sunday at COTA, and the remainder of the top-10 in the starting grid will be comprised of Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell, Corey LaJoie, Ross Chastain, Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott, and Bubba Wallace.
Shane van Gisbergen, a rookie of the year contender in the NASCAR Xfinity Series who won in his NASCAR Cup Series debut last season, narrowly failed to advance to the final round of qualifying and will start from the 12th position in Sunday's race.
