Modifieds of Mayhem Prepare to Hunt for The Bear

Alabama’s house of speed, Montgomery Motor Speedway, serves as the next stop for the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Modifieds of Mayhem Tour powered by Chevrolet Performance.

The second race of the 2026 season will be the Hunt for the Bear 62 at Montgomery Motor Speedway on Saturday, March 7th. The event stands as one of the staple events for the Modifieds of Mayhem every year. While this particular race has served as the season opener for the tour in recent years, the 2026 rendition will be the second points-paying race for the series this year.

The 2026 season opened with the World Series 60 at New Smyrna Speedway, where Cody Stickler emerged victorious.Stickler has experience in finding victory lane in the Hunt for the Bear event, winning in 2023. The most recent winner in the Hunt for the Bear, however, is Kevin Peel. Peel will try to go back-to-back and pick up another hand-carved bear trophy.

The Modifieds of Mayhem Hunt for the Bear 62 is just one part of what’s surely to be an exhilarating weekend of racing. The 62nd annual Alabama 200 will be the headlining event on Saturday, March 7th, with the Alabama Auto Racing Pioneers also contributing to the program with a vintage car race.
