Kaden Honeycutt makes the jump to TRICON Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2026, taking over the seat of the No. 11 Toyota that won last year's championship with Corey Heim behind the wheel.

That would be enough to satisfy many racers, but Honeycutt loves to race at any opportunity that presents itself. On Wednesday night, that meant taking the win in the J&C Gradall Modifieds division at New Smyrna Speedway during the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.

Honeycutt, who also won the Modifieds of Mayhem feature during last December's Snowball Derby, held off Cody Stickler to score the victory in the J&C Gradall Modifieds, otherwise known as the Florida Modifieds during the World Series of Asphalt, at New Smyrna on Wednesday night

"Stickler's the man in this stuff," said Honeycutt in victory lane. "John [Heil]'s been working really, really hard to get this stuff better. I felt like winning the Derby definitely helped out a lot, for sure. He found it, for sure. We've got a little bit to work on.

"I think he had a little bit better drive than I did. I was just able to maintain center. I've got a little bit to work on for Staurday, but, man, I appreciate every opportunity I get to run these things."

Honeycutt took the lead on lap 15, passing Matthew Laprade for the top spot. Laprade led the first 14 laps of the event and ultimately finished fourth.

A former winner in several prestigious Late Model events, including the Snowball Derby, Honeycutt will make his fair share of short-track appearances in 2026. Those appearances include several starts in the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Modifieds of Mayhem Tour powered by Chevrolet Performance, with sights set on a potential championship.

That pursuit begins this Saturday in New Smyrna with the series' season opener on the final night of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing. Following his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series obligations at Daytona International Speedway, Honeycutt will return to New Smyrna on Saturday night looking for another win.

"I love Modifieds," said Honeycutt. "I just take every chance I can to come back. I don't know how I can live without it, to be honest with you. If I am fortunate enough to run on Sundays, I'm going to have to figure out how in the world to come back here and do this stuff.

"I'm really looking forward to running for the Mods of Mayhem championship, which, oddly enough, I can run. Looking forward to it. Hopefully, we can get a good start on Saturday."

Stickler finished second, followed by Brad Bowman, Laprade, and Jared Maupin.

The J&C Gradall Modifieds will contest 60-lap features on both Thursday and Friday, February 12-13, before Saturday's co-sanctioned contest with the Modifieds of Mayhem Tour to conclude the World Series.
