A flood of entries has already hit the Five Flags Speedway office in preparation for the Allen Turner Snowflake 125 in December. A month after the entries went live for the 58th running of the Snowball Derby, the Pro Late Model event entry form is available.

Like before, a prize package is available to the Pro Late Model teams who enter the Snowflake 125 in the first 30 days; only one driver can be the first, and that came in California rookie Jace Hale.

“I've never done the Snowflake before, and I have never been the first entry before,” said Hale. “That's cool to be the first one on the list. We will be working with Jacob Gomes for that weekend, and we are excited about the trip.”

Hale has already had a fine season. The 14-year-old competitor is a fifth-generation driver in the family. Hale has already pocketed two wins in the CARS Tour West Pro Late Model ranks and is racing on both east and west coasts to prepare for a trip to Pensacola for the Snowflake.

“Our success on the East Coast is not as strong as the West Coast,” added Hale. “We have never really been to the East Coast much, and we are running some of these tracks for the first time. Back on the west side, we are leading the points, hoping to close out the season on top.”

Hale finished 11th in the most recent Pro Late Model event for the CARS Tour East Series at Hickory Motor Speedway. Hale has spent some time in North Carolina after he helped and watched his brother Colton, who just finished the balance of the Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway over the last few weeks.

We are a racing family,” said Hale. “My dad goes back and forth for work, and we race along the way. We plan to run the last Pro Late Model race of the season at Five Flags in September to get ready for the Snowflake. That will be my first time on track, and I can’t wait.
