Nitro Motorsports is set to return to action this weekend at Lime Rock Park for the next round of the Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli. Coming off a productive outing at Sebring International Raceway, Nitro Motorsports will once again bring an impressive six-car lineup to the grid across the TA2 and Pro Am categories.
Competing in the TA2 class will be Gian Buffomante in the #95 machine with Seamus McKendree piloting the #20. Jake Bollman will join Nitro Motorsports in the #90 with the twin brother duo of Jackson Tovo (seventh in the championship) and Ethan Tovo (sixth in the championship) in the #30 and #10 Toyotas. Cale Phillips will represent the team in the Pro Am class driving the #99 machine and enters the weekend second in the championship points chase. Jackson and Ethan Tovo enter the weekend both sitting in the top-three in the Rookie of the Year point standings.
“We are excited to get back on track at Lime Rock with another strong group of drivers,” expressed Nitro Motorsports co-owner Nick Tucker. “This is a very different circuit, and it really challenges drivers to stay aggressive while minimizing mistakes. The team has been working hard preparing for the weekend, and we are looking forward to continuing to build momentum across the entire program.”
Tucker’s business partner and father of Jackson and Ethan echoed Nick Tucker’s comments.
“It is always great to get back to a legendary track like Lime Rock, and it provides the perfect opportunity for us as a team to fight for as many points as possible,” added Tovo. “For me, it is great to have the team on track working towards one common goal, but also special to spend the time with my boys watching them grow and climb the motorsports ladder.”
Nitro Motorsports heads into Lime Rock Park focused on continuing their strong performances and competing at the front across multiple classes. The race weekend will begin Thursday with testing sessions, followed by practice and qualifying on Friday. The Trans Am race is scheduled to go green at 3:00 PM EST on Saturday.
