If you missed Saturday's opening leg of a weekend doubleheader for the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli at Sonoma Raceway, don't worry, Matthew Brabham had you covered. In a race that looked like a replay of Saturday's event, Brabham dominated from the pole position, led every lap, and topped Paul Menard for the race win.

The only difference between Saturday and Sunday was the margin of victory, which was substantially smaller in Sunday's race, as Brabham, driving the No. 16 Chris Dyson Racing Gymweed Ford Mustang, collected the win by 4.176 seconds over Menard, the driver of the No. 3 Ford Mustang.

Brabham says it was a much harder race to win with Menard hounding him all race long, and the majority of his Chris Dyson Racing team focused on trying to get Rafa Matos' mechanical gremlins from Saturday's race fixed so he could race on Sunday.

"Yeah, it was a tough one," Brabham explained. "I mean, obviously, the guys were thrashing to get Rafa's car out there, so it was a shame to not have him on the grid. They worked so hard, it's such a tight thing there. So, I was kind of on my own as they were working on his car."

Brabham continued his dominant start to the 2026 Trans Am season, as he has won all four races to kick off the campaign, and Brabham is now up to 12 career wins in the Trans Am Series in just 19 career starts.

While he is enjoying the dominant start to the season, Brabham knows just how fortunate he is to be where he is, and knows at any moment the competition could catch up to him.

"Just the team did an excellent job," Brabham stated. "All the guys and girls and Chris Dyson Racing all weekend have been giving us just such fast cars. It's just a dream. Living the dream, you know, winning all these races. It's not always like this, so I'm really enjoying it, and soaking it up as much as I can."

Menard, the two-time and defending Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli champion and former Brickyard 400 race winner, has finished runner-up to Brabham in each of the four events so far this season.

While it's frustrating to finish second, you could sense near the end of Sunday's race that Menard and his No. 3 team were making strides in competing alongside Brabham.

With a third-place finish, overall, Phil Fogg Jr. took home the top spot in the TAC Class on the day, although he was a lap off the pace of Brabham, the overall race winner. Jim Guthrie and Ken Thwaits rounded out the podium for the TAC Class, as they finished fourth and fifth overall, respectively, on the day.

It was a heartbreaking end to the weekend for Cole Moore, who was running third overall atop the TAC Class in Sunday's race, when a mechanical failure ended his bid to sweep the weekend in the TAC Class. Moore would finish 12th.

With a sixth-place finish, David Kunicki took home the TACW Class win, while Simon Gregg completed the TA Class podium with a seventh-place finish.

Chris Coffey, the eighth overall driver in the running order, defeated Patrick Utt for the win in the SGT Class.
