Undercards Taking Center Stage During Easter Bunny Weekend at Hickory

Nitro Motorsports announced Wednesday the addition of Jackson Tovo to its Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli TA2 program for 2026.
Tovo makes the jump to TA2 for 2026 after competing in the Toyota GR Cup North America last year. Following an impressive karting career, Tovo moved into the F1600 open-wheel platform, finishing sixth in the F1600 Championship Series in 2024.
His ability to adapt to several different forms of racing in recent years marks him as a promising prospect for Nitro Motorsports as he moves up to the full-bodied TA2 entry alongside his twin brother, Ethan.
"I'm really excited to be joining the TA2 program with Nitro Motorsports for 2026," said Tovo in the team's release. “Racing alongside Ethan is something we’ve done in the past, and I am excited to do again in the future. I will also be continuing with Toyota and Lee Faulk Racing in the Late Model Series and am looking forward to ample seat time in 2026.”
“Jackson has grown tremendously over the last couple of seasons, and stepping into TA2 is the natural next move for his development,” addedNitro Motorsports Co-Owner Nick Tucker. “His approach, attitude, and work ethic have been great, and pairing him with our other TA2 drivers will only strengthen the overall program. We expect Jackson to continue making big strides in 2026, and we’re excited to help guide him through this next phase of his career.”
77 Grounds Coffee, a local dog-friendly coffee shop in Davidson, North Carolina, will partner with Tovo in his move to the Trans Am Series.

Jackson Tovo tallied four top-10 finishes in 14 starts in the Toyota GR Cup North America during 2025. Seventh-place finishes at Virginia International Raceway and Road America marked his best finishes of the season.
The 2026 Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli season begins on February 26-March 1 at Sebring International Raceway. Trans Am teams will also head to Sebring on January 21-22 for preseason testing ahead of the 2026 season.
