Trans Am Returns to The Historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The Trans Am Series by Pirelli returns to one of the most historic venues in all of motorsports, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, June 18-21 to take on the facility’s 2.439-mile infield road course for the first time since June 2023. One of the newest tracks on the schedule, Trans Am has made four stops in Speedway, Indiana, throughout its 60-year history – 2017, 2018, 2019, and again in 2023 with just the TA Class.

While the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is globally recognized for the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400 (both contests that occur on the speedway’s 2.5-mile oval that opened in 1909), an opportunity to kiss the bricks, no matter the race, is one that every driver longs for.

Brickyard Prestige Results in Strong TA, TA2 Turnouts

Father’s Day Weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is one of the most prestigious and dazzling events on the Trans Am Series by Pirelli calendar this year, as the historic road racing series celebrates its 60th Anniversary… and the competitors have come out in droves.

This weekend’s event in Speedway, Indiana, is currently scheduled to have 62 ENTRIES on the premises, with 28 drivers competing in the TA Class and 34 competing in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series – the largest field for the TA Class in 2026, and the largest combined turnout for the two series this season. Competitors have travelled from across the country (and around the world) to be at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend, with 24 different states represented on the entry list between the TA Class and the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series, as well as four countries – the United States, Canada, Austria, and Israel.

Brabham’s Lime Rock Misfortune Opens Up TA Class Championship Battle

After starting the 2026 Trans Am Series by Pirelli’s TA Class with four consecutive victories, a substantial mechanical gremlin for Matthew Brabham and Chris Dyson Racing in the series’ most recent event at Lime Rock Park (on Memorial Day Weekend), has blown the championship fight wide open. Paul Menard, who finished second to Brabham in all four of his wins, was able to capitalize, earning his first win of 2026, while the No. 16 Gymweed Ford Mustang finished fifth, knocking the points lead to just six markers.

The Brabham-Menard matchup continues to get even more interesting. For the first (and only) time in 2026, the Trans Am Series races on back-to-back weekends, with Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend and Road America next. Those, of course, are the two home racetracks for Brabham, an Indianapolis-native, and Menard, a Wisconsin-native. The driver with the upper hand when these two races are done could very well have the momentum to propel themselves to a championship when the season ends at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in November.

Team SLR Continues Dominance of CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series

Since Helio Meza debuted in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series (and won) last November at Circuit of the Americas, the question has been whether anyone could defeat the young talent from Spring, Texas. However, maybe the question that everybody should have been asking is whether anybody could beat Team SLR. The multi-car operation owned by Scott Lagassee, Jr., continued its dominance last time out at Lime Rock Park, albeit with a different driver, Alon Day. It’s the 12th straight CUBE 3 TA2 Series win for the organization, dating back to last May.

With Day, Meza, and the rapidly improving Lanie Buice on the team’s lineup, plus a fourth entry that often features heavy-hitters from the world of NASCAR’s National Series, it’s hard to believe that the team’s stranglehold on the field is going to stop – considering there have only been two races where a driver from outside the Team SLR stable has stood on the podium (Sebring and Sonoma).

The question is, who can pull a rabbit out of their hat and beat Team SLR?

Amy Ruman Returns to Trans Am Competition

After being absent from the Trans Am Series by Pirelli paddock for nearly eight months, Amy Ruman is returning to competition this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Last October, Ruman was involved in an off-track incident which resulted in a complex fracture of her right ankle, tibia, and fibula – an injury that required two surgeries and extensive titanium hardware placement. A 16-time winner and two-time champion (2015 and 2016) in the TA Class, Ruman will drive her familiar No. 23 McNichols Co. Chevrolet Corvette.

Trans Am Legend Boris Said Jumping Back Behind the Wheel in TA Class

The field for the Trans Am Series by Pirelli’s return to the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend is absolutely stacked, including the presence of Boris Said, who makes his first start in the TA Class since last May at WeatherTech Laguna Seca. Said, an 18-time TA Class winner, will pilot the No. 2 Weaver / Householder Dodge Challenger in the event. The 63-year-old driver last went to Victory Lane in the TA Class at Road Atlanta in 2021, driving the same entry he’ll pilot in Sunday’s event.

Adrian Wlostowski Looking to Kiss the Bricks Twice at Indianapolis

It’s going to be an insanely busy weekend for Adrian Wlostowski at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as he looks to secure an opportunity to kiss the hallowed bricks twice in a single day – competing in both the GT Class and CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series events at the 14-turn road course. The Maspeth, New York-native will start Sunday by driving his usual No. 3 CMI / Spot-On Services / AMT Motorsports Ford Mustang in the CUBE 3 TA2 Series, before jumping back behind the wheel later in the day, driving the No. 6 Compass Manufacturing Inc. Howe HR6 in the GT Class.

Wlostowski will start the day looking for his maiden victory in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series, which, if he’s successful, would be the third different Trans Am Series by Pirelli class he’s stood at the top of the podium in. Later in the afternoon, though, he’ll look to earn his second GT Class win, backing up his triumph from last year on debut at Barber Motorsports Park.

Tyler Kicera Returns to Trans Am with Nitro Motorsports

Tyler Kicera, a two-time winner in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series, is returning to the division for this weekend’s event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Kicera, who recently debuted in the ARCA Menards Series at Watkins Glen, will drive the No. 90 Toyota Camry XSE for Nitro Motorsports, the team he competed with twice last season. The Manheim, Pennsylvania-native was full-time in the CUBE 3 TA2 Series in 2021 and 2022, finishing seventh and sixth in point standings, respectively. Kicera’s two wins in the series came at VIRginia International Raceway in 2020 and at the Charlotte ROVAL in 2022.

Lyn St. James Serving as Grand Marshal at Indianapolis

A trailblazer for women in motorsports, Lyn St. James will serve as Grand Marshal for this weekend’s Trans Am Series by Pirelli events at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a racetrack that played such a significant role in her success. The Willoughby, Ohio-native made seven starts in the Indianapolis 500 from 1992 to 2000, winning Rookie of The Year honors at age 45 in 1992. St. James has also found success in prestigious events such as the 12 Hours of Sebring and 24 Hours of Le Mans – scoring three podiums in Sebring, including a GTO Class victory in 1990 with Roush Racing.
