Alon Day Pips Meza for Watkins Glen Pole; Odrick to Lead Pro/Am Field

Alon Day (No. 17 JSSI Chevrolet Camaro) is coming on strong at the right time in the fight for the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series championship battle, beating Team SLR teammates Helio Meza and Tristan McKee for the pole in the first leg of this weekend’s doubleheader at Watkins Glen.

Fresh off his second CUBE 3 TA2 Series victory of 2026 at Road America, which transpired as a result of a last-lap mechanical issue for Meza, Day managed to post the fastest lap time in qualifying on Friday, making a major pickup from practice, where he was four tenths of a second off the No. 28.

It’s the second career pole position for Day, who managed to lead the field to green at Lime Rock Park, the site of his first triumph earlier this season.

Meza was second-fastest in qualifying on Friday, just 0.086 seconds off of polesitter Day, with Tristan McKee, making his first CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series appearance of 2026 for Team SLR, qualifying in the third position.

For the third time in the last four CUBE 3 TA2 Series events, Gavin Gleitsman managed to put together a solid fourth place starting spot. This weekend at Watkins Glen International, he’ll look to secure his first top-10 result in the series, beating a previous best of 12th (twice at Sebring and Road America).

Gian Buffomante rounded out the top-five in the No. 95 for Nitro Motorsports, his second consecutive top-five start. Nathan Herne, making his first appearance of 2026, will start sixth, with Adrian Wlostowski seventh, Noah Harmon eighth, Lanie Buice ninth, and Thomas Merrill rounding out the top-10.

The CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series will race twice this weekend at Watkins Glen, first on Saturday, July 18 at 1:20 PM ET, and then again on Sunday, July 19 at 11:05 AM ET. The broadcast for the events will be on Racing America, RacingAmerica.TV and @TheTransAmSeries on YouTube.

Jared Odrick (No. 00 Helium Mobile / Black Underwear Chevrolet Camaro) continues to find himself on top in the PRO-AM Division of the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series, winning the pole for the first leg of the Watkins Glen International doubleheader.

Odrick managed to secure his sixth pole position of the season through eight races in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series PRO/AM Division, making a sharp pick up from practice on Friday, to edge Roberto Saboto for the top spot in time trials.

Saboto was the quickest in practice by nearly six tenths of a second but was unable to back up his stellar time in qualifying and will instead start second to Odrick on the PRO/AM grid. Tom Sheehan, Cale Phillips, and Doug Winston rounded out the top-five. Aiden Dorvee, Jim Gallaugher, Maciej Tuniewicz, Preston Peables, and James Libecco complete the top-10.

Odrick, the polesitter in the PRO/AM Division, will start 17th overall.
