Salem, IN (July 27, 2022) – Race two of the Cowboy, Come! Canning & Distillery Four Crown mini-series for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS is set to take place this Saturday in the Fireball Whiskey Circle City 100 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, located just outside of Brownsburg, Indiana. Saturday’s event will be 100 laps, counting yellow flag laps the first 75, but teams cannot lose a lap under yellow. There will be a break at lap 50 and the event will pay the winner $3,000.

The Fireball Whiskey Circle City 100 is part of a huge weekend of racing at Indianapolis Raceway Park that will see the return of the Camping World NASCAR Truck Series and the ARCA Menards Series on Friday, July 29th. The Circle City Twin 200’s on Saturday will include the Fireball Whisky Circle City 100 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series and the Fireball Whisky Circle City 100 for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks. The Vore’s Compact Touring Series will also be in action with two feature events.

The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stock Four Crown mini-series began in 2015 as a three-race mini-series and has taken many iterations in its history. Jason Atkinson has won the Four Crown title four times, with those championships coming in 2015, 2019, 2020 and again in 2021. Brett Hudson, Chuck Barnes Jr. and Jacob McElfresh have also claimed titles.

The first event of the 2022 Four Crown mini-series was scheduled for April 30th at Shadybowl Speedway but was cancelled because of weather. The second event was run at Anderson Speedway on June 25th where Chuck Barnes Jr. picked up the win. The 150 lap Four Crown Championship event will be held on Saturday, August 13th at Anderson Speedway.

In addition to the $3000 minimum to win for each event, there will be a Points Champion from the events who will receive a $2000 bonus in 2022, up from a $1,000 in previous years, thanks to Cowboy, Come Canning & Distillery. Second in points will receive a $600 bonus, third place a $400 bonus, then there will be two $250 bonuses from a random draw from the cars that attended all four events. Each Four Crown event winner and the overall Champion will receive a specially designed buckle from Crumrine Buckle Manufacturing.

The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks have had five events to date in the 2022 season, Shawn Amor picked up the win in the series special non-points event with SpeedFest 2022 at Watermelon Capital Speedway in January. Jason Atkinson picked up the win in the series points opener at Shadybowl Speedway on April 3rd. Josh Poore picked up the win in the series event at Anderson Speedway on April 16th. Andrew Teepe picked up the win in the series event on June 12th at Mt. Lawn Speedway with Chuck Barnes Jr. getting the win in the Four Crown event at Anderson Speedway on June 25th.

Series rookie Dalton Conner comes into Saturday’s event as the series season points leader. Three-time series Champion Atkinson is in second place, he is two points behind Conner. Fellow series rookie Blaine Akin is in third place, he is eight points behind Atkinson. 2021 series Rookie of the Year Dawson Phillips is in fourth place, he is 20 points behind Akin. Teepe is in fifth place, he is 45 points behind Phillips.

Barnes Jr. leads the Cowboy, Come! Canning & Distillery Four Crown mini-series points coming into Saturday night. Ryan Amonett is in second place, three points behind Barnes Jr. Conner is in third place, three points behind Amonett. Atkinson is in fourth place, he is two points behind Conner. Alan Williams Jr. is in fifth place, he is two points behind Atkinson.

A stellar field of 23 drivers is already entered for Saturday night’s event topped by former Four Crown Champions Atkinson, Barnes Jr., and Hudson. Other top CRA drivers entered include Akin, Conner, Phillips, Teepe, Amonett, Williams Jr., J.P. Crabtree, Nathan Greene, Kimmie Grieg, Troy Phillips, Jeffrey Belt, Frankie Oakes, Dillon Oliver, Sammy Sanders, Cole Baxter, Aaron Wilke, Dallas Frueh, Jamie Sites, Jesse Cottrell and Austin Coe who hasn’t raced his Street Stock since the 2017 season, he picked up three wins at IRP in that car in 2016.

Pits will open on Saturday, July 30th at 11am. Practice will begin at 2:15pm with the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks having two 30-minute practice sessions with the one-day format of the event. Group Qualifying will begin at 6pm. The race program will begin at 7:30pm with the Vore’s Compact Touring Series D&J Sales B4 20, followed by the $5,000 to win Fireball Whisky Circle City 100 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series. The Vore’s Compact Touring Series BPG Inspections 25 will be up next, with the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Fireball Whiskey Circle City 100 Cowboy, Come Canning & Distillery Four Crown Mini-Series event topping off the night’s racing action.
