Roahrig Looks to Defend Tony Elliott Classic Crown as 500 Sprint Car Tour Returns to Anderson Speedway

Anderson, Indiana: The yourBIGplans.com 500 Sprint Car Tour returns to Anderson Speedway on Saturday, September 26, for one of the most anticipated events on the series schedule, the 11th annual Tony Elliott Classic presented by CB Fabricating.

Named in honor of Anderson Speedway and Indiana racing legend Tony Elliott. The event pre-dates the creation of the 500 Sprint Car Tour serving as the fall race at Anderson Speedway. It continues to be a marquee stop on the 500 Sprint Car Tour schedule, bringing some of the best pavement non-wing sprint car drivers in the country to the historic quarter-mile.

Leading the field into this year's event will be Tyler Roahrig, the defending Tony Elliott Classic winner. Roahrig captured the 2025 edition of the event and will return to Anderson looking to add another victory to his impressive record at the track.

The Plymouth, Indiana driver also enters the event with momentum after scoring the most recent 500 Sprint Car Tour victory at Berlin Raceway on August 28.

Roahrig is one of several former Tony Elliott Classic winners entered for Saturday's race. The previous winners entered include:

• Kody Swanson — 2016

• Tyler Roahrig — 2018, 2019, 2021, 2025

• Bobby Santos III — 2020, 2022

• Dakoda Armstrong — 2023, 2024

Swanson, the reigning Unified Group Services Little 500 winner, will bring the No. 33 Nick Bohanon entry to Anderson as he looks to add another major victory to his already impressive pavement sprint car resume.

Santos will pilot the No. 22 DJ Racing entry. The Franklin, Massachusetts driver has been a consistent contender with the 500 Sprint Car Tour and will be looking to add a third Tony Elliott Classic victory to his resume.

Also returning is Dakoda Armstrong, the 2025 yourBIGplans.com 500 Sprint Car Tour champion, who will compete in the No. 1 C&A Motorsports entry. The New Castle, Indiana native is seeking his third Tony Elliott Classic victory.

The current entry list features 21 cars, including a strong contingent of Indiana drivers. Among those entered are Donnie Adams Jr., Matt Dimit, Timmy Creech, Tony McVey, Justin Harper, Rylan Gray, Kyle O'Gara, Billy Wease, Brian Vaughn, Tony Main and Chris Neuenschwander.

The current entry list also includes Olivia Shelbo of London, Ohio; Jackson Macenko of Cincinnati, Ohio; Nathan Byrd of Goodyear, Arizona; Brady Allum of Taylorsville, North Carolina; and others.

With five former Tony Elliott Classic winners already entered, a defending race winner looking to repeat and the most recent 500 Sprint Car Tour winner carrying momentum into the event, the stage is set for another exciting chapter in the history of the Tony Elliott Classic.

The 11th annual Tony Elliott Classic presented by CB Fabricating will feature the yourBIGplans.com 500 Sprint Car Tour, USSA Kenyon Midgets and The 500 Sprint Car Tour will headline the evening with a 100-lap battle around Anderson Speedway.

Pit gates open at 12:30 p.m., front gates open at 2:30 p.m., and racing is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

General admission tickets are $18 for adults, $5 for children ages 6–12, and free for children five and under. Fans can purchase tickets online at Andersonspeedway.com and are encouraged to arrive early to catch practice and qualifying action before the feature racing begins.
