Five Flags Speedway confirmed on Tuesday (September 30) that the 58th Annual Snowball Derby and the 21st Annual Allen Turner Snowflake 125, scheduled to be held from December 4 to December 7, will be utilizing a different tire compound in 2025.

Teams entering the prestigious Super Late Model and Pro Late Model contest in Pensacola, Florida, this December, will be utilizing the Hoosier F-45* as both the left-side and right-side tire. Five Flags Speedway, during its 2025 regular season, utilized Hoosier ST-1* as the left-side tire, and Hoosier ST-3 as the right-side tire.

The tire company conducted a formal, multi-team, multi-chassis tire test at Five Flags Speedway on Wednesday, September 3, and results from that test ultimately led to the decision to use the F-45* tires on both the left and right side.

“At the end of the day, we feel an obligation to not just our competitors, but to our fans, to offer a platform that produces the best racing possible,” said Tim Bryant, General Manager of Five Flags Speedway. “While the ST tire program worked well, kudos to Hoosier for continuing their efforts to develop something even better. At the recent test, the 45* tire gave multiple drivers the feel they were looking for in their race cars, while yielding the proper amount of fall-off everyone was looking for,” Bryant continued. “This change should equate to better side-by-side racing, and hopefully more passing to excite race fans.”
