Large Fields Expected Throughout Snowball Derby Weekend

While the spotlight is brightest on the 54th Annual Snowball Derby presented by Hooters on Sunday, December 5 at Five Flags Speedway, there will be incredible racing all week long at the Pensacola, Florida half-mile.

Along with more than 50 entries in the Snowball Derby and Allen Turner Snowflake 100, the latest entry lists for the marquee event also boast impressive fields for many of the other divisions that will race throughout Snowball Derby week.

The latest update to the Super Late Model entry list boasts a pair of drivers making treks from the north to the Snowball Derby. Gandrud Auto Group 250 winner Paul Shafer, Jr. and two-time APC United Late Model Series champion Brandon Watson have filed their entries for pavement Super Late Model racing's biggest event.

Added Pro Late Model entries for the Snowflake 100 include Dylan "Mamba" Smith making his return to Five Flags Speedway after earning a spot in last year's Snowflake field, as well as Timothy Watson. Watson won an Outlaw feature at Five Flags earlier in the year and made his Pro Late Model debut during Five Flags' Night of Champions, qualifying second.

A whopping 36 drivers have filed entry for the Faith Chapel Outlaw portion of the Snowball Derby, as they will compete for 50 laps on Saturday, December 4. The ultra-competitive division saw seven different feature winners in seven races in 2021, with Jake Finch claiming the division's championship.

After Snowball Derby qualifying on Friday night, fans will be treated to the 75-lap Modifieds of Mayhem feature, which also serves as the touring series' championship race. Currently, 29 drivers have entered the Modified feature, including racers such as Augie Grill and Kaden Honeycutt who will also be competing in Late Models during the week.

Racing starts on Thursday, December 2, with the Proxy Pro Trucks, Dock of Pensacola Beach Sportsmen and Lloyd's Glass Pure Stocks hitting the track. Entries are starting to fill out those fields as well, with nearly 20 Pro Trucks and 16 Sportsmen already announced.
