Berkley Harp of Jay, Florida was crowned Miss Snowball Derby for the 56th Annual Snowball Derby on Friday evening in downtown Pensacola.

Harp has competed for several years in the Miss Snowball Derby Pageant, with hopes and dreams of one day winning the crown. On Friday evening, those dreams became reality.

“I cannot believe this. This is a literal dream come true,” said Harp. “I’ve been prepared for this for a long time. This has been a dream. I’ve competed for the last three years. My mom’s probably happy I don’t have to compete next year.”

Harp will represent Five Flags Speedway over the next year until passing the crown along to next year’s Miss Snowball Derby winner. Those duties begin at the upcoming 56th Annual Snowball Derby presented by Hooters and Safe Locator on November 30-December 3.

“I have a lot of emotions, excitement for sure,” said Harp. “I’m definitely excited to represent Five Flags Speedway for the next year.”

The contestants were judged first in rounds of fun fashion and formal wear to narrow the field of 20 contestants down to five finalists. The finalists then fielded questions from the judges to determine this year’s winner.

Along with the Miss Snowball Derby crown, Harp will receive a $1,000 cash prize courtesy of Fast Cash ATM Services. First runner-up Katelyn Erwin and second runner-up Bailey Jordan were awarded $300 and $200, respectively.

In addition, the winner will receive a piece of fine jewelry from Jewelers Trade Shop, and Miss Congeniality Railee Cook will receive a piece of fine jewelry from Bere' Jewelers.

A big weekend of activity continues on Saturday in the buildup to the Snowball Derby. The Snowball Derby Preview takes place at Five Flags Speedway, with competitors across all the divisions racing during Derby week taking advantage of the testing session.

The Snowball Derby Preview will also include the Crown Stock Derby 40 for the Story & Bleich Roofing Crown Stocks, with a massive entry list of competitors. Racing will begin at approximately 6 p.m. CT, following the conclusion of Snowball Derby Preview practice sessions. Admission is free for the event, and fans can watch live starting at 4:30 p.m CT/5:30 p.m. ET on Racing America.
