‘It’s a culmination of all the engineering that they’ve done in all those particular race cars and race series,” said Bruce Qvale, CEO of Qvare Dallara. “You’re dealing with a piece of paper that’s not blank. It’s full of expertise and years and years of technology.”
The Dallara EXP is a sports car with 500 horsepower in qualifying mode, weighing in at 1,950 pounds. The machine can also produce up to 2,700 pounds of downforce, offering a balance between speed and safety and maneuverability for racers of all skill levels.
“Probably most important, it’s extremely safe. It’s closed-wheel, and I think that’s important when you’re talking about club drivers and amateurs and gentleman racers. When someone comes up to me and asks if this car can be too much for them, I answer it fairly succinctly and say, not at all. It’s a wonderfully designed automobile and it’s very docile, but at the same time, very fast.”
