Winchester Speedway and American Big Rig Racing announced Friday that they have cancelled their planned event for Saturday, May 16.

The American Big Rig Racing series was prepared to make its debut at the historic high-banked half-mile in Winchester, Indiana this weekend. However, inclement weather forecasted for the area has led track and series officials to cancel the event.

"Winchester Speedway and American Big Rig Racing are disappointed to announce the May 16th event has been cancelled," reads the statement announcing the cancellation. "Due to multiple weather forecasts showing rain, we feel it’s the best decision.

"We are already working on a 2027 date. We want the first semi race to be an amazing experience for the fans and drivers."

Those who have purchased tickets online will be fully refunded for their purchase. Fans who purchased tickets online will receive an email from MyRacePass within the next couple of days. Those who purchased tickets on-site at Winchester Speedway can bring the ticket to the track office and receive a refund of their purchase.

Winchester Speedway's next event is the Tom Bigelow Showdown on June 28. That event features the yourBIGplans.com 500 Sprint Car Tour, as well as Thunder Roadsters and the HRA Vore's Welding & Steel Late Models.

The next race on the American Big Rig Racing schedule is at Windy Hollow Speedway on May 23.
