Denny Hamlin Executes Perfectly to Score 40th Cup Series Pole at Watkins Glen

William Byron's No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet dominated Sunday's Go Bowling at The Glen, earning his first NASCAR Cup Series road course win and his fifth victory of the 2023 season. Byron started second and took the lead for the first time on Lap 21 of 90.
Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell finished behind Byron in second and third in the No. 11 and No. 20 Toyotas, respectively. Kaulig Racing's AJ Allmendinger brought his No. 16 Chevrolet home fourth, followed by JGR's Ty Gibbs in the No. 54 Toyota.
