Kaulig Racing announced on Thursday the promotion of Chris Rice from President to Chief Executive Officer.

Rice has been with the team since its inception in 2016, when he served as the General Manager. He was promoted to President in 2018, the title he has held until now. Rice was also a driving force in securing Kaulig Racing’s partnership with RAM upon its entrance into the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Rice has been in the sport of NASCAR for several decades, working for organizations such as Bill Davis Racing, RAB Racing, Jay Robinson Racing, ML Motorsports, and NTS Motorsports.

“Chris Rice is the real deal,” said Matt Kaulig, Founder and Team Owner of Kaulig Racing. “From his early days on pit road to President and now CEO of Kaulig Racing, his journey reflects the hard work, dedication, and passion that define this sport.

“Chris was with me from the very beginning, helping build Kaulig Racing from the ground up, and his leadership has been instrumental in shaping the culture and success of our team. I’m proud to call him a partner, a leader, and a friend.”

Rice will continue to oversee Kaulig Racing’s competition and business operations in his new role as CEO.

“I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and for Matt’s trust in me,” said Rice. “From day one, our goal has been to create something special here at Kaulig Racing, not just wins on the track, but a culture where people love to come to work every day. With our partnership with RAM and the opportunity to continue grow in 2026, the future has never been brighter for Kaulig Racing.”

Kaulig will be the anchor factory team for Ram’s return to NASCAR in 2026.The team will field five trucks in the series.

Ram departed the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2012 following a 17-year run dating back to the series' inception in 1995. Under the Dodge banner, Ram trucks won the series championship in both 2004 and 2005 with Bobby Hamliton and Ted Musgrave.

Ram is part of the portfolio of brands offered by leading global automaker Stellantis.

The team also currently fields two cars in the NASCAR Cup Series and three NASCAR Xfinity Series entries. Over the last seven seasons, Kaulig Racing has won 29 races between the two series.

Two of those victories have come in the NASCAR Cup Series with veteran driver A.J. Allmendinger. Allmendinger won at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2021 and the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL in 2023.
