Jan 11, 2023
WinterFest returns to Showtime Speedway for its third running this weekend, headlined by a $10,000-to-win 125-lap Super Late Model feature.
Winterfest takes place on Friday and Saturday, January 13-14. Along with the Super Late Models, the Super Mini Late Model Florida State Championship will be on the card for Saturday’s feature racing. Friday’s lineup includes A Modes and Crown Vics, as well as qualifying for the Super Late Models and Super Mini Late Models.
One Super Late Model driver will have a chance to win an extra $20,000 with the event’s “Back to the Front” challenge. If there are at least 26 cars in the field, the fastest qualifier in the Super Late Model field will be offered the chance to start at the rear of the field. If he is able to race his way back to the win, he will take home a $20,000 bonus along with the $10,000 payday to the winner.
If the fast qualifier passes up the bonus opportunity, the chance will be offered to the second-fastest qualifier. This process will continue through the top four qualifiers.
The top four drivers in qualifying will also receive bonuses. Fast time will take home $500, with $200 for second and third place and $100 for fourth fastest.
