In a finish so close that the track PR announcer actually called the wrong driver out as the winner as the finish transpired, it was actually Cole Butcher that took the win over Jake Finch in Saturday night's ASA Southern Super Series Battle on the Bayou at Mobile International Speedway.

Here is a video replay of the final few laps from the Racing America broadcast:

It was by the closest of margins, but Butcher crossed the finish line 0.002 sec. ahead of Finch.

Butcher and Finch duked it out neck-and-neck over the final few laps of the race, and in the end, they gave the fans in attendance and Racing America subscribers (Subscribe to Racing America by clicking here) watching from home something to talk about for ages.

The ultra-close run to the finish was preluded by a series of cautions with under 10 laps remaining in the event, beginning with an incident triggered by Bubba Pollard, who was in the runner-up position and chasing Butcher for the race win, being spun after contact with Finch.

It was the continuation of a frustrating weekend for Pollard, who was swept up in a crash at 5 Flags Speedway on Friday night. After much discussion on whether he would compete at Mobile on Saturday night, Pollard was able to get a back up car, which was provided by Tony Elrod, ready and was able to compete.

After the incident between Pollard and Finch, a couple of other dust-ups would occur, with the final caution coming out for a spin by Stephen Nasse after contact from Casey Roderick with two laps to go.
