United Auto Racing Alliance (UARA) officials announced today the addition of veteran motorsports insider Alan Dietz in an advisory role. Dietz will assist in plotting the future of UARA moving forward, including event scheduling, sponsorships, and future collaborations with other series to help grow the sport.
"Alan [Dietz] and I met a few years ago and realized we shared a common vision for grassroots motorsports," said UARA President Ricky Brooks. "We've already been working on a few things this year and have some big plans for 2026, especially with the UARA Super Late Models. The UARA Sportsman division has been very successful, and we look for it to continue to grow."
Dietz has worked across the motorsports' spectrum, primarily in television, with NASCAR Productions, Fox Sports, SPEED, NBC, and most recently with Racing America as Director of Broadcasting. Throughout that time, he has stayed close to his roots as an announcer at numerous tracks across the Southeast. Dietz was the announcer for the original UARA series for Late Model Stocks from 2002-2007. He worked for over a decade with the Pro All Stars Series as an announcer and marketing director from 2007-2020. Additionally, Dietz has been play-by-play announcer for some of the biggest short track events in the country, including the Racetrack Revival at North Wilkesboro Speedway, Oxford 250, Slinger Nationals, Rattler 250, Snowball Derby, and All American 400. Dietz continues to work as an announcer in his native South Carolina at Lake View Motor Speedway, Dillon Motor Speedway, and Florence Motor Speedway.
"It's like 'Back To The Future' being with this version of UARA," said Dietz. "I remain close to Tom Mayberry and the folks with PASS and hope to take some of that knowledge to what UARA is doing. Ricky [Brooks] has done a great job with UARA, and I see a lot of parallels with what PASS has done. Hopefully, I can help and give fans and racers something to be excited about, especially with Super Late Model racing."
The UARA season continues August 1-2 at Auburndale Speedway with the Billy Joe Ingram 154 for the UARA Super Late Models and will pay $7,500 to the winner.
