- Bubba Pollard had a strong finish to the 2023 ASA Southern Super Series season with a second-place run on Friday and victory on Saturday in the finale. Mixed in the middle was a wedding that kept him even busier on Friday. Pollard recorded his third SSS win of the season and his fourth top five of the year.

- The parity continues in the Southern Super Series with eight different winners happening at Five Flags Speedway in the last 10 events. Only Stephen Nasse has won multiple races in that time.

- Jeremy Doss took the PepperJack Kennels bonus package for being the highest finishing driver over the Friday night Blizzard race in July (which he won) and the Friday night race this pas weekend. The PepperJack Kennels bonus is worth a free registration for the 56th annual Snowball Derby, eight free pit passes for the week of the Snowball Derby, four sets of Hoosier racing tires, up to 25 gallons of Sunoco Racing fuel for the race, and eight all-inclusive VIP PepperJack Kennel Club credentials.

- For the first time in series history there were nine fast time award winners in nine ASA Southern Super Series events. We could see a repeat pole winner at the All American 400, but this record will stand as the entire regular season didn’t see a repetitive pole winner.

- Southern Super Series regular Jackson Boone won the Allen Turner Pro Late Model season finale on Saturday night. Boone took the checkered flag in the Allen Turner Tune-Up 100 before jumping into his Super Late Model. Boone had three top five runs over the three Late Model events during the weekend.

- Fellow SSS regular John Bolen won the Pro Late Model track championship with a fifth-place finish. It’s the first track title for Bolen at Five Flags, but he is a former Pro Late Model champion at Montgomery Motor Speedway (AL).

- Kole Raz came all the way from the west coast and learned a lot in his Five Flags debuts. He posted his best finish on Saturday with an 11th-place run. We think that this was a tuneup for a return trip to the Snowball Derby in December. We will have to wait and see.

- Jake Finch continues to knock on the door and may be soon kicking on it trying to get a Super Late Model win at Five Flags Speedway. Finch has not been at all the Southern Super Series races in 2023, but he’s been in the top 10 six times in eight starts.

- Jace Hansen turned some heads with an impressive eighth-place run on Friday. However, he did not get to follow that up after the Eaton, Colorado driver had trouble on Saturday and did not finish. Look for him to contend at the Snowball Derby.

- Michael Hinde finishes the season well with seventh and 10th-place runs in the doubleheader. Hinde will finish the 2023 season with top 10’s in nearly half his races.

- Matt Craig didn’t have the championship performance that he was looking for, but the North Carolina driver did post a ninth and seventh-place runs to add to his totals. Craig had six top 10’s this season in 10 total Southern Super Series events. Craig also had three 11th-place runs so in total he was 11th or better in eight of the 10 races.

- Former Snowball Derby winner Travis Braden made the most of his time this year in the Blizzard series as he scored enough points to be in the top 10. Braden was sixth and ninth in the doubleheader this past weekend.
