The stars of the Turn One CRA Pro Series head to Owosso Speedway this Saturday for the Big O Classic 100.
Originally, the Turn One CRA Pro Series planned to kick off its 2026 season at Toledo Speedway with the House of Meats 100. However, inclement weather postponed that event to August 9, making the Big O Classic the new season opener.
The ninth running of the Big O Classic 100 promises a stout field of competitors to battle for the $10,000 prize around Owosso Speedway. Currently, 27 cars are entered for Saturday's race, including 2024 Big O Classic winner Chase Pinsonneault. Pinsonneault is a three-time winner with the Turn One CRA Pro Series, with two of those victories coming at Owosso.
Chase Burda won the 2023 Masters of the Pros 184 at Owosso as part of a championship season in the Turn One CRA Pro Series. It will be Burda's first pavement Late Model start of 2026, as he has spent time competing on both dirt and pavement.
Treyten Lapcevich has already been off to a busy start to the 2026 season with the zMAX CARS Tour, including podium finishes on Saturday at Ace Speedway in both the Late Model Stock Car and Pro Late Model. The 2023 NASCAR Canada Series champion and 2025 ARCA Menards Series race winner at Berlin looks for a big Pro Late Model victory on Saturday at Owosso.
For 12 drivers who have committed to pursuing the Turn One CRA Pro Series title in 2026, this will be the first chance to earn points and establish themselves as true championship contenders. Among them are Pinsonneault and the last two series champions in Blake Rowe and Billy VanMeter. Others planning to compete for the full season include Will Sahutske, Jimmy Tucker, Sam Johnson, Kevin Cremonesi, Chris Shannon, Albert Francis, Michael Simko, Chloe Mazzagatti and Gabrielle Grigsby.
Last year, Chris Shannon earned the PepperJack Kennels Rookie of the Year honors for the CRA Pro Series. Mazzagatti and Grigsby have early sights on that title in 2026, while other rookie drivers entered for the Big O Classic include Tyler Lupton, Brent Drobny and Zach Johnson.
Qualifying begins at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday at Owosso Speedway for the Big O Classic 100. Fans will have the chance to meet and greet drivers during the autograph session at 6 p.m. ET. Pre-race ceremonies are slated for 7 p.m. ET, with the green flag waving at 7:35 p.m. ET.
