Southern Super Series Prepares For Gulf Coast Doubleheader Weekend

The ASA Southern Super Series races at Five Flags Speedway on Friday and Mobile International Speedway on Saturday, with a strong field of cars lined up for the weekend.

The first look at the entry list for the ASA Southern Super Series has been released for this weekend's Gulf Coast Doubleheader at Five Flags Speedway and Mobile International Speedway.

A total of 25 cars will compete under the Southern Super Series banner over the course of the weekend. The series will be at Five Flags Speedway on Friday, April 26 before traveling to Mobile International Speedway on Saturday, April 27.

Casey Roderick enters the weekend with the Southern Super Series points lead. Bubba Pollard, Cole Butcher and Matthew Craig have won SSS races so far in 2024, and will be looking to add to their trophy collection this weekend.

Last weekend, Jake Finch scored a big win in the ARCA Menards Series at Talladega Superspeedway. He climbs back into the Phoenix Racing Super Late Model this weekend, looking for another victory.

The last time the Southern Super Series went to Mobile International Speedway in 2018, Stephen Nasse picked up the win. Nasse has 11 career Southern Super Series wins.

Defending Blizzard Series champion Jeremy Doss is once again making the trip to Pensacola from California for the event, and will be tagging along for Saturday’s event at Mobile as well.

With an off weekend in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Jake Garcia is climbing behind the wheel of a Super Late Model for the doubleheader weekend. Garcia had two wins and three podium finishes in four Southern Super Series starts in 2023.

The full entry list can be viewed below.

Racing begins at 8 p.m. CT/9 p.m. ET at Five Flags Speedway on Friday night. Pure Stocks and Crown Stocks will also be on track.

Saturday's racing program begins at 7 p.m. CT/8 p.m. ET, with Pro Trucks, Sportsman and Pure Stocks joining the card alongside the Southern Super Series.
