This weekend's Late Model doubleheader at Montgomery Motor Speedway featuring the Rumble By The River for the ASA Southern Super Series and the Show Me the Money Pro Late Models has been cancelled due to another unfavorable weather forecast two weeks after the event was initially rained out on April 15.

"After much deliberation, track promoter Stan Narrison, along with SSS officials, have made the tough decision to cancel the double header events scheduled for this weekend," reads a statement from the series. "The high probability of rain on Saturday and Sunday factored in, as track and series officials did not want to chance having teams make a second trip to the Capital city with a high risk of another cancelation.

"At this time, no reschedule date has been set. Those teams who were in attendance for the original April 15 date have been rewarded 25 Driver/Owner Championship Points for their efforts."

"Cancelling this event is a heart breaker for us at Montgomery Motor Speedway," stated Montgomery Motor Speedway General Manager Stan Narrison. "Personally, I really was looking forward to seeing Supers and our great Pro Late Model program running the same night. With the weather forecast being what it is, we anted to be considerate to our teams and fans."

The next ASA Southern Super Series event is schedule for Tuesday, May 16 at North Wilkesboro Speedway in conjunction with the ASA STARS National Tour, a precursor to NASCAR All-Star Week. The ASA STARS National Tour will also be in action on May 7 at Madison International Speedway.
