Kyle Larson will step into the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car ranks on Wednesday at Caraway Speedway, driving the second JR Motorsports Chevrolet alongside primary driver Carson Kvapil.

An avid race-chaser in stock cars, open-wheel racing and even road-course events, Larson will make his CARS Tour debut driving the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet prepared by Bryan Shaffer and Josh Tarrant-Hill in the 125-lap main at racy Caraway. Last year, Kvapil won the $30,000 Old North State Nationals for his first victory with the team.

Larson currently stands 10th in NASCAR Cup Series points with two victories in the first 16 races of the season, and has led a series-best 588 laps in that span.

Kvapil, the defending CARS Tour LMSC series champion and current point leader, is eager for the opportunity to race with Larson on Wednesday.

"It's really cool that Kyle is coming to Caraway with us,” he said. “He's a NASCAR champion and one of those guys who can drive anything and be really competitive right away. As a team, we've been pretty good at Caraway, with the win last season in the Old North State Nationals, and I know how our cars perform there. I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to race with him."

Entering the event at Caraway, Kvapil leads the LMSC points battle by 15 over Brenden Queen on the strength of three wins, six top-five and seven top-10 finishes in seven races. He's also led a series-high 291 laps.
