Jeremy Doss Paces Practice for Friday Night at Five Flags

Jeremy Doss is picking up right where he left off at Five Flags Speedway.

Doss, the winner of the second Blizzard Series race of the season in July, set fast time in the first round of practice for Friday's ASA Southern Super Series event at 16.749 seconds. Doss improved on that during a brief run in final practice, clocking in at 16.678 seconds.

With the win in July, Doss enters Friday's American Welding Society 100 as the front-runner in the battle for both the Deep South Cranes Blizzard Series championship and the fight for the PepperJack Kennels Snowball Derby prize package.

Included in the prize package is free registration for the 56th Annual Snowball Derby, eight free pit passes for the week of the Snowball Derby, four sets of Hoosier racing tires, up to 25 gallons of Sunoco Racing fuel for the race, and eight all-inclusive VIP PepperJack Kennel Club credentials.

The winning driver will also receive a free private test on the weekend prior to the Snowball Derby, as well as a Five Star Body Reskin Kit.

The top three drivers were the same in both practice sessions. Matt Craig, who enters the weekend in contention for the Southern Super Series title, was second-fastest, while Jackson Boone was third.

During the first round of practice, Jace Hansen suffered a broken wheel and hit the outside wall in turn four. His team immediately went to work unloading the backup car, and he was back on track in time to turn laps for the second round of practice.

Qualifying is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. CT (8 p.m. ET) for Super Late Model competitors, with racing beginning at 8 p.m CT (9 p.m. ET). Fans unable to attend Friday's racing program at Five Flags Speedway can watch live on Racing America.
