Bakersfield, CA - The “47th Annual Hardees Rattler 250”, at South Alabama Speedway (AL), is attracting big names from throughout the country. One such name is Jeremy Doss, who will be making the trip from Upper Lake, a small rural town in the northern portion of California. Doss is a former Rookie-of-the-Year and champion of the Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series. He will enter the March 17th – 19th event as the presumptive championship leader of the SRL National, after finishing third in the “All-Star Showdown 200” at Irwindale Speedway (CA). A $25,000 payday will await the winner of Sunday’s feature event.

Doss is planning a more national schedule in 2023, in the Bob Lyon Racing, Hamke Racecars Camry. One week prior to the “Rattler 250”, he will participate in Round #1 of the Blizzard Series, at Five Flags Speedway (FL). He will then make the trip to Opp, AL in search of a win in the prestigious event. It will be the theme for Doss in 2023, racing against the best, while exploring new facilities.

“We want to go race against the best of the best, at big events this year”, Doss stated. “We felt like the “Rattler 250” brings in a lot of good cars, with a good payday. I'm very excited to go race at a track I've never been to before.”

As the two-time Pacific Challenge Series champion, and the Bob Lyon Racing Team arrive at a new facility, Doss is confident that they have what it takes to conquer the challenge and find speed quickly.

“I feel like we will get right up to speed when we hit the track”, Doss conjectured. “I have the best team and the best equipment. Hamke Racecars supplied with a Peters Engine and Earnest Shocks is a recipe for success.”

Doss has reason to believe that he can compete for the victory, after multiple big wins and championships. He won the Spears Modified Series as well as Spears Pro Late Model championships in the same season. He is a 12-time Super Late Model winner in the Spears Southwest Tour, as well as the 2018 champion. He has victories in the “Las Vegas Open Comp” at the Bullring at LVMS (NV), multiple “Fall Spectacular 100” titles at Redwood Acres Raceway (CA), a win in the “Win River 125” at Shasta Speedway (CA), two “Montana 200’ triumphs at Montana Raceway Park (MT), an “Idaho 208” win at Meridian Speedway (ID), a “Southern Idaho 100” win at Magic Valley Speedway (ID), and a Budweiser Crown Series victory at Evergreen Speedway (WA). He won the “October Classic 134” at Kern County Raceway Park (CA), this past October.

In his Pro Late Model, he has an “Idaho 200” win at Findlay Stadium Stateline Speedway (ID), a $15,000 win in the “Bischofberger Brawl 166” at Stockton 99 Speedway (CA), a $10,000 win in the “All-Star Showdown 100” at Irwindale Speedway (CA), and another $10,000 win in the Madera Speedway (CA) “Short “Track Shootout 150”. In his very first start in the Alan Turner Pro Late Model “Snowflake 100”, at Five Flags Speedway, he came home fourth this last December.

With a record of big wins, Doss feels a “Rattler 250” victory would move to the top of his accomplishments, as he explained.

“I feel like a win at the “Rattler 250” would rank right up there at the top! I feel like I've won a lot of big races, but I haven't quite had the success back east that I'd like. It would be really special to get the win.”

Doss will partner with Bob Lyon Racing for his cross-country tour in 2023. In 2022, Doss partnered with Lyon for a majority of his Super Late Model starts, while also competing with his JD Motorsports team. The relationship began in 2021, when Doss drove for Lyon at the “October Classic” at Kern County Raceway Park. The team also competed in the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway. In 2022, Doss rallied late in the season to finish two points behind Jacob Gomes for the championship in the Spears Southwest Tour Series. His rally found him winning three of the final four events, two of them in the Lyon prepared Super Late Model. In 2023, he will go hunting more wins with the new partnership.

“I'm very thankful to be partnered up with the Lyon Racing Team this season”, Doss explained. “We will approach every race the same, with one goal in mind, to win!”

The "Rattler 250" will take place from March 17th - 19th. It will pay $25,000 to the winner with $1,600 to start. It is the first time the event has been sanctioned by the SRL National and will be Round #2 of the season series. Friday evening will see feature action for the Mini-Sportsman, Mini-Cups, Coyotes, Cuplites, and Super Stocks. Saturday night will see features for the Modifieds, Road Runners, and the “Baby Ratter 125” for the Pro Late Models. The three-day event will be capped off by the 47th Annual “Hardee’s Rattler 250”, scheduled to roll off at 2:00 PM.
