Chase Elliott will make his first Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour appearance of 2025 next Thursday, May 22 at Hickory Motor Speedway.
The Dawsonville, Georgia driver announced on Wednesday his intentions to compete in the Ross & Witmer 255 at Hickory, the next race for the ASA STARS National Tour. Elliott has competed in the ASA STARS National Tour event at Hickory every year since its inception in 2023.
In the inaugural ASA STARS National Tour event at Hickory, Elliott finished sixth in the race won by Giovanni Ruggiero. Elliott also took part in last year's event, starting eighth before mechanical issues ended his race early.
The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion competed in SpeedFest at Cordele Motor Speedway, finishing fifth in that event, won by Bubba Pollard. This will be Elliott's second Late Model appearance of the season with the Fr8 Racing team.
The Ross & Witmer 255 at Hickory Motor Speedway takes place on the Thursday night before the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. It has become a staple of the Memorial Day weekend of racing in North Carolina, leading up to the crown jewel event of the NASCAR Cup Series.
This year's race at Hickory is part of a doubleheader weekend for the ASA STARS National Tour. While Elliott will head to Charlotte to prepare for the Coca-Cola 600, the Late Model regulars will go west to Tennessee for the Food Country USA 300 at Newport Speedway.
Elliott is currently fourth in NASCAR Cup Series championship standings, with three top-fives and six top-10 finishes so far in 2025. This weekend, Elliott is part of the NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway on Sunday, May 18.
