Bubba Pollard added to his unassailable resume at Cordele Motor Speedway on Saturday night, winning the Georgia Summer Nationals for his ninth career ASA Southern Super Series victory at the track in his home state of Georgia.

Pollard took the lead from fellow Georgia native Spencer Davis on lap 75 of the race's 125 laps, maintaining the top spot for the rest of the race. The victory adds to an incredible list of accomplishments at Cordele, including five SpeedFest Super Late Model wins.

Pollard methodically worked his way through the field after starting sixth, demonstrating his prowess at the Watermelon CApital.

"It was good tonight," said Pollard in victory lane. "We've had a pretty good package here over the last 10 or 12 years. I really like this place, because you can move around on the racetrack when your car ain't handling so well. We didn't fire off good at the beginning of the race. We got stuck behind some guys and made our way back up through there.

"I knew the caution was going to come out, possibly lap 65 or so. I just needed to put myself in position. Clean air is everything with these bodies, so we knew we had to take advantage on the restart there. I just couldn't fire off real good."

It is Pollard's 43rd career ASA Southern Super Series win, and continues a trend of winning at least one Southern Super Series event each year since the tour's inception in 2013. It is Pollard's first Southern Super Series win since a victory at Cordele last September.

"We've still got to dig deep to outrun these guys, because they're tough," Pollard said. "All these guys are tough right here. We've had a rough year and a half. All these guys right here behind me have stuck with me, and that's what it's all about. We're a big family. They've stuck with me, and it means a lot to me."

Davis settled for second, an important result in his pursuit of this year's Southern Super Series championship. Davis entered the weekend in second place in the championship standings, three points behind Tristan McKee. McKee was not part of Saturday's field, as he finished sixth in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Davis unofficially takes over the points lead as a result.

Despite all of that, Davis was hungry for a win at Cordele. However, he knew he'd have his hands full battling Pollard for the win.

"Them guys let Bubba get to me a little bit too soon," said Davis. "His stats speak for themselves. He's really, really good here. I knew it was a matter of time before I was going to have to race him. I gave it all I could. Just too free tonight, you know? We were good when we could control the race.

"Man, he was just, he's always good on the top here. You really aren't going to hold him off. I chose my best lane, and it didn't work out. We've just got to be a little bit better."

Colin Allman rounded out the podium, putting together another strong showing at Cordele of his own. The Florida native finished runner-up to Jake Garcia in last year's World Crown 300 at Cordele, as well as last year's Georgia Summer Nationals.

"The car was decent," said Allman. "Fired off really good. I thought we were gonna have a good shot there. Just too free on the long run, you know? First time here with this car on this tire, and we're just learning it. Just missed it a little bit. We'll come up with a game plan, come back and try again.

"It's a testament to my dad and getting us this new Toby car this year. This thing's bad fast. We keep tweaking on it. We'll get up there. Bubba had the best car tonight by far, Spencer was really good as well. We were just too free."

2024 World Crown 300 winner Michael Hinde finished fourth, with Jett Noland rounding out the top five.

The ASA Southern Super Series makes its next stop at Mobile International Speedway on Labor Day weekend. The tour visits the Alabama half-mile on September 5 for the Battle on the Bayou.
