As a part of the announcement, Mayberry went on to say that July 2nd will be qualifying day with a pair of 75 lap events locking in the Top 15 each into the big show. "We really want to make sure that the preliminary events are a show in itself," he said. "We will have support classes present, but we really wanted to make the Tuesday portion of this program is a big event for the Super Late Models too."

Asked about the choice of a Mid-Week show vs the traditional Saturday Sunday, Mayberry explained the desire to make this a destination race that people could plan a vacation around. "July 4th week is a big vacation week for a lot of families," said Mayberry. "With the race in the middle of the week it allows people to come for a couple days or stay the whole week if they chose. What better way to celebrate America then spending it at the track watching some great racing?"
