Bill Elliott will have a big weekend during the Heritage Invitational at Ten Tenths Motor Club on April 9-11.
Earlier in March, Elliott was named the 2026 Heritage Invitational Celebrant. The honor acknowledges both his accomplishments behind the wheel and his impact on racing culture.
“Awesome Bill from Dawsonville” will also don his firesuit during the weekend, competing in the IROC presented by Chevrolet event on Friday, April 10 during the Heritage Invitational.
Elliott joins an IROC field that also includes Jef Gordon, Kurt Busch, Scott Pruett, and other motorsports legends alongside a group of amateur vintage racers. They will compete in authentic IROC machines that competed in the prestigious series from 1974 to 2006.
“Bill may have stepped away from full-time NASCAR racing in 2003, but he has remained a constant figure in motorsports and his competitive drive hasn’t wavered,” said Ray Evernham, who serves as both the executive director of the Heritage Invitational and co-owns the IROC series.
“What a treat that fans will once again have the chance to see Awesome Bill strap in and put on a helmet alongside an absolutely incredible list of competitors as part of next month’s event.”
Elliott, a 2015 inductee into the NASCAR Hall of Fame, won 44 NASCAR Cup Series races during his illustrious career, including two Daytona 500s, three Southern 500s and the 2002 Brickyard 400. He won the NASCAR Cup Series championship in 1988, and earned the nickname of “Million Dollar Bill” as the sport’s first Winston Million bonus winner in 1985.
Other notable champions in the IROC field include Tomy Drissi, Tommy Kendall, Bobby Labonte, Mark Martin, Max Papis and Ken Schrader. Two-time IROC champion Al Unser, Jr. will also be on site as an IROC ambassador and special guest throughout the weekend.
Along with the IROC competition, the three-day event includes Vintage Indy exhibitions, a Charity Pro-Am race, and the Heritage Invitational Concours featuring significant cars that highlight the history, artistry and innovation of the automobile and the community around the machines.
