Ava Hanssen Returns To Ligier Junior Formula Championship For 2026 Season

ELKHORN, Wis. (March 21, 2026) – Ava Hanssen will return to compete in Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC) with her family-run team, Ava Hanssen Racing. Hanssen plans to run a full season in the highly competitive junior formula series in 2026, as she looks to build on the experience gained during her rookie debut last year.

“We are still learning as a team, but with our rookie season behind us. I am excited for a strong presence on the track this year,” said Tim Hanssen, father of Ava Hanssen and crew chief for Ava Hanssen Racing.

Hanssen began racing at just four years old and quickly built an impressive record across multiple forms of motorsports. She has earned multiple wins in snowmobile and ATV racing, more than 12 karting championships, collected several victories in Legends cars, and notched a win in her very first open-wheel race. Known for her calculated driving style, Hanssen continues to develop her skills as she climbs the formula ranks, aiming to challenge some of the top drivers this season.

“I’m really excited to be back for the 2026 Ligier JFC season,” said Hanssen. “Last year was a huge learning experience for me, and I’m ready to take everything I learned and push even harder this season. My goal is to keep improving, challenge the best, and show what I’m capable of as I climb the open-wheel ranks.
