Mother Nature Shortens Snowball Derby Preview

While participating teams were able to enjoy some track time at Five Flags Speedway during Saturday's Snowball Derby Preview, rain arrived shortly before 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the Pensacola, Florida area.

Before the rain arrived, teams were able to practice for approximately four hours in the last open testing session ahead of the Snowball Derby. With the rain persisting and forecasted throughout the afternoon and early evening, track officials have canceled the remainder of the Snowball Derby Preview.

The prize money allocated for the fast time awards during the final round of the Snowball Derby Preview will be transferred to the pole awards throughout Snowball Derby week on December 1-4. $500 will be added to the prize money for the Snowball Derby, with $300 added to the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 pole award and $200 added to pole awards for the remaining divisions taking part in the Snowball Derby.
