Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials and Sunoco Race Fuels representatives have announced that Sunoco Race Fuels has agreed to continue to be the Official Spec Race Fuel of the ASA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS and the Official Race Fuel of the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance through the upcoming 2023 season. 2023 will be the 13th straight season that Sunoco Race Fuels has been a supporter of CRA’s top two series.

“Sunoco is extremely pleased to continue their support of the ASA/CRA Super Series and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour,” stated Russ Bradford, with Sunoco Performance Products. “The CRA owners and staff have a proven history of providing extremely well run, family entertainment at racing facilities throughout the Midwest. Additionally, they provide grassroots racers with a professionally run venue to hone their skills and demonstrate their talent. Sunoco has a long history of supporting grassroots racing throughout the world and we are proud to continue to support the CRA organization because of their outstanding reputation and commitment to excellence.”

Sunoco Standard 110 Octane will continue to be the Official Spec Race Fuel for the ASA/CRA Super Series for their 27th season of competition in 2023. Each competitor will be required to run only the Sunoco Standard 110 Octane at every series point’s event on the series schedule. Teams will also be required to purchase a minimum of 10 gallons of Sunoco Standard 110 Octane at every series points event from the hosting race track or from the Sunoco Dealer on hand, who will have fuel available at every series event when the track does not sell Sunoco Standard 110 Octane.

“Having Sunoco Standard 110 Octane as our spec race fuel with the ASA/CRA Super Series has made it cut and dry with enforcing our race fuel specifications,” remarked Eddie Chew, Tech Director for CRA. “Having one fuel has eliminated the ability of teams to try and use performance enhancing additives in their race fuel, which is becoming harder to test for with so many race fuel companies blending their own fuel for teams. Having Sunoco Standard 110 Octane as the spec race fuel has helped CRA make sure that everyone is competing on a level playing field when it comes to race fuel.”

“We greatly appreciate Sunoco Race Fuels continuing to support CRA,” remarked Scott Menlen, Series Director with CRA. “The Sunoco name has always stood for quality products that racers can always depend on. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Sunoco well into the future!”

Sunoco Standard 110 Octane will continue to be the Official Race Fuel of the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour for their 13th season of competition. Series teams will be required to purchase a minimum of 10 gallons of Sunoco Standard 110 Octane at any track hosting an event that sells Sunoco Race Fuels or if it is an event serviced by a Sunoco Dealer.

In addition to being a major point’s fund sponsor for each series, Sunoco Race Fuels will continue to honor a racer from both the ASA/CRA Super Series and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour at the CRA Awards Banquet each season. The Sunoco Race Fuels Sportsman of the Year Award will honor the driver in both those series who best represented the sport of auto racing both on and off the track during the race season. CRA officials will nominate which driver they feel best deserves the award, the driver in each series with the most nominations will be named the Sunoco Race Fuels Sportsman of the Year and will receive a $500 cash bonus at the CRA Awards Banquet. Logan Bearden was the 2022 ASA/CRA Super Series Sunoco Race Fuels Sportsman of the Year Award winner. Nick Egan was the 2022 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Sunoco Race Fuels Sportsman of the Year Award winner.
