Sheridan Pivots for Return to United Racing Series Opener

After a tough season opener at Sunset Speedway, the Sheridan-Sherba Racing team has put in the work to be back and better with their 52 Pro Late Model. What ended up being an internal engine issue stripped Sheridan of any chance he had to compete during the Steve Slaughter 100 lap event earlier this month. It seemed the plan to dial in his set up for the tour’s opening night, was shot.

“We struggled with what we thought was an electrical issue all day but ended up being an internal engine issue and took us out of the race on lap 5.” The night being cut short doesn’t change the fact Jake feels confident coming into the May long weekend, ready to compete with a stout field. “I felt we did a great job with changes all day and ended up with a real good car for the race and a solid notebook for the APC opener on the 18th.”

The 2023 APC United Racing Series schedule held two stops at Sunset Speedway, where Sheridan brought home a pair of fourth place finishes - showing he’s always one to watch when it comes to said events.

Jake has a determination and passion for the sport that doesn’t let him put in anything but 100%, “We diagnosed at the track (that) night, came home and took the motor straight out and (now i’m) packing up to go away for work again this week. So thankful for all the support from our people, no quit in this team.”

With his notebook full for the upcoming weekend he shares, “Sunset Speedway, May 18th will be the place to be for anyone who loves Pro Late Model Racing. Plus it’s awesome to see Racing America airing our events this year with APC, it’s great knowing there are even more eyes on our series than usual.”
