RacingAmerica.TV Viewing Guide for June 8-9
Jun 3, 2024
Jake Sheridan hopes to bounce back from a disappointing start to his APC United Late Model Series season.
Flamboro Speedway is the place to be this Saturday June 8th for round 2 of the Pro Late Model APC United Racing Series. After 2 DNF’s to start the year at Sunset Speedway, Jake Sheridan is welcoming another chance for a good finish this upcoming weekend.
After bringing a quick car to Sunset Speedway for the United Racing Series opener Sheridan was involved in what he deemed to be “the bad side of a racing deal”. During the opening laps Sheridan was making his way through the field after qualifying in the 6th spot, when contact with another competitor led to a really ill handling race car.
Later, after a solo spin, the team realized that the left front suspension was damaged during initial contact and after running quite a few more laps it finally gave out causing a spin and ending Jake's day at Sunset Speedway.
Although it’s been a rough start to the 2024 season the pilot of the 52 Pro Late Model remains optimistic for round 2 stating “Although the finishes this season don’t show it we’ve had speed at both of the events we’ve run this year. It seems that we always have to get a little bit of bad luck out of the way each season, we're hoping this is it for us.”
Last season Sheridan grabbed a top 10 in the same event at Flamboro Speedway, but later in the season managed a second place, he’s expecting a similar result and says “We hope to show up one spot better this weekend!”
This event is quickly followed by round 3 at Peterborough Speedway on June 15th, Sheridan shares “Flamboro is always a pretty rough track and with Peterborough being around the corner we really want to keep the car clean and bring home a good finish. Peterborough is one of my favorite tracks so I'm really looking forward to next weekend as well.”
