Officials from Oxford Plains Speedway (OPS) and the Pro all Stars Series (PASS) announced today the schedule and format details for the upcoming Spencer Group Paving PASS 400 Weekend scheduled for October 13th, 14th, and 15th. The reformatted Championship weekend will now feature over 1000 laps of heat and feature competition from 7 different divisions, culminating in Triple 100’s for the PASS SLM series as they crown the 2023 champion.

The festivities will kick off on Friday with the JOE PRO 150 along with The Kennebec Equipment Rental PASS Mods, and Cooley’s Commercial Tire Mad Bombers as a makeup event for the September 10th rainout. The Joe Pro 150 will act as a tune-up for the triple 100’s while paying $5000 to win PLUS the previously announced 250 non qualifiers bonus. The PASS Mods series will contest race number 12 on the season as they prepare for their Triple 30’s slated for Sunday. The Mad Bomber division will round out the card as they race for their first of two $500 to win races over the weekend. Post time for Friday’s event will be 5:45.

Immediately following the racing will be the weekend kickoff party at the Crash Pad Bar and Lounge with music and beverages. All are invited to relax and socialize with drivers as we celebrate the 2023 season

PASS 400 weekend racing begins Saturday the 14th with qualifying for Super Late Models, PASS MODS, Dow Excavating Limited’s, and Spaulding Roofing Street Stocks. The ACT Flying tigers will also make their annual appearance at Oxford Plains Speedway, along with a second $500 to win Mad Bombers race sponsored by Oxford Auto Salvage. Joining the Saturday program will also be the KHM Thunderstocks and the 207 Brand Running Rebels as they also race for extra money. Post time is 2pm.

The Sunday PASS 400 program will feature Triple 100’s for the PASS Super Late Models as the tour will crown both their National and Overall Champion. Points will be awarded based on the finish position, 1st will receive 1 point, 2nd will receive 2 points and so on. The lowest combination of points from all three 100 lap events will be the overall winner, ties to be broken by highest third segment finisher. The overall winner will bank $6000 with $600 going to the last place finisher. Additionally, each 100 lap segment will pay the winner $1000 with $200 to take the green flag. Studio 1187 has posted an additional $1000 to the winner meaning a potential $10000 payday is on the line and a minimum of $1200 to start for those competing in all three segments.

“We wanted to end the year with something a little different this year that allows all types of teams to compete with us,” said PASS President Tom Mayberry. “This gives teams a unique chance to race a lot of laps, but at the same time allows for adjustments as the day progresses. It will be interesting to see how teams respond and adjust in between races.”

Mayberry went on to state that as a ten tire race, teams will need to use some strategy as to when and how may tires they take throughout the three 100 lap races. Also noted in the release is a top 25 invert following each segment will determine the starting lineup of the next leg, providing even more strategy opportunities for teams.

The Kennebec Equipment Rental PASS MODS will compete in their own version of “The Triple” with three 30 lap races of their own following the same type of format as the SLM. Bessey Motor Sales out of South Paris has posted extra money for the open wheel touring series as they also seek to crown their yearly champion. Each 30 lap segment will pay the winner $300 with $50 to start and the top three in each contest receiving a trophy for their finish. Like the PASS SLM, the overall winner will be determined by the lowest point total for the combined 3 segments with any ties broken by the highest finisher in the last leg.

Rounding out the card will be an extra distance 75 lap race for popular Limited Sportsman division paying the winner $1500 and 50 laps for the Street Stocks paying $1000 to win respectively. Post time is 12:45.
